So, today's the day. Lou will be announcing our next coach. Is everyone ok with DJ Smith as coach?(If it is indeed, him) I mean, didn't we just have a ton of years with unproven guys at the helm? Cmonnnn, Trotz!

Obviously my choice would be Trotz. You're right, all we've had are first time coaches. I know Lou is very familiar with Smith, but I hope he goes with the proven, now Cup winner, in Trotz.

Hello kind sirs,

I have been checking out this site forever, but I almost never comment. I think a year or two ago I created an account for fun that immediately got flagged. My name was a clever spelling of PA Parenteau's famous retort to a penalty. They shortened it to this.

I have followed Bd since he was writing those fun rivalry articles with his brother. I remember when he posted a new style article for CBS a few years ago. It was kind of like a brochure with multiple columns(blue background, if you know what I'm talking about). I admire Bd for his entrepreneurial spirit. He's got his tentacles everywhere from digital art to photography to blogs to cigars to hockey and more. And he appreciates Hunter S Thompson.

So I did something I never do. I emailed a stranger with some constructive criticism on the formatting and editing of his article for CBS. He could have told me to go F myself because CBS has professional editors who looked over the work. He could have been a condescending douche looking down his cigar at me. But, he didn't. He was a perfect gentleman, even if he didn't necessarily need to hear the criticism from the cheap sheets. He was professional.

So, there's my bonafides to Bd. He probably won't even remember our email exchange, but I just wanted to share to establish my perspective.

On the other hand, this is hockeybuzz. People come hear to share fake rumors and laugh at each other. I joined with a silly name to get people to laugh. Seriously, find the video. It's hilarious.

I once lashed out at Dee for admonishing fans for something that they never did. She told everyone to be nice to the soda vendors as the Isles were moving to Barclay's - like they were planning on yelling at the help. Strange lady.

I really enjoy this site because the Isles posters are really smart. You have to be smart to be this stupid funny. It's an art. I laugh every day.

So totally agree to all of this!!!

Longtime reader here. I really don't understand all the arguing and bad blood here. Anyone who has followed BD since Lighthouse Project knows he has sources. So I really don't understand why anyone would say the opposite. He is guilty of buying the Islanders message. That's why anyone should be angry at him. He admitted to this. Let's move on already. When a guy does pieces with Town of Hempstead memos, Tom Suozzi, Jay Jacobs and other political guys besides other writers and hockey people, I don't understand how anyone would act like he doesn't? He just did a video with Kevin Allen of USA Today for gods sake. If he has other writers respect maybe he deserves at least some even if he's wrong and sometimes a major douche.

Everyone is angry at one another. It's not just BD. Fans are angry. Writers are angry. Just look at Staple with fans lately. Stop being so damn angry!

BD you have to respect the fans. You used to. Then it changed. Maybe it is the anger. Or the team. Or everyone else has changed too. I see that fans have definitely changed. If everyone needs to relax so do you!

I've said my peace. Stop it everyone.

I am surprised that more people aren't talking about Alain Vigneault. His style and teams have played quick, up-tempo speed game where defensemen join the rush. I don't think it was his fault the Rangers failed.

BD maybe you lost respect for fans because of your relationship with the team? It certainly looks like they lost respect for the fans. Lucky for everyone that Ledecky and Malkin didn't. You need to find your heart again and know that respect has to come both ways.

Lots of people coming out of the woodwork and posting for the first time in a long time (myself included) to voice their displeasure with how you treat us fans, BD. Even in the posts that have moments of praise, they mention how pompous and condescending you are. That’s pretty telling, buddy boy.

Hi! While I might agree, I think you should also read what I said on everything else because I think we are being really over the top back to him which makes everything worse. I think everyone needs to chill out. Stop insulting the blogger. There are very few good ones on this site. We finally have someone good again.

Trotz would be nice but if he is not interested and Sutter is retired, DJ Smith might be a good option. He has had a lot of success unlike Cappy and Doug.

Ok. Getting the message. I will do my best.

Please give me some leeway and some respect back.

I'll also do a bit less in the chat/forums here... giving you back some space. Do let me know how I am doing and be willing to give a clean slate. I'll do same.

I think Dan did a great job. He just got too busy with work to continue.

He's not at the top of my list, and I feel like experience is the way to go after so many years without it. But honestly I don't really know anything about the guy...and probably don't know much about other people they've considered. As long as it's someone who can come in here, balance out the offense and defense a little, and get a consistent effort out of the team, then I'm good.

One thing I'm pretty sure of, if whoever it is doesn't get the job done, Lou of all people probably won't wait around too long to replace him.

I love all the possibilities, but lets be real here......the isles are in desperate need of a goalie, and top d pair. I dont think Lou will be drafting too many people this year in the first round. Just my opinion...
