I too was a Grabner fan. I never understood what he did (or didn't do) to get on Cappy and Snow's bad side.
- JohnScammo

Grabner did not play a heavy game like CMac or Strait.

Guy is a good penalty killing forward who can score in bunches. Thats exactly how he should have been utilized but look who I'm talking about. Snow and Capuano are two of the most incompetent morons I've come across since I started watching hockey 40 years ago.

I never wanted grabner gone. More like I wanted the (frank)ing chimp who was coaching (mishandling him)gone but who isn't an upgrade over Prince/Quine?
- Cptmjl

Me either. Every time Grabs would get some momentum Crappy would fack with his head. I will say that watching him whiff on breakaways was pretty frustrating.

Having hernia surgery after the 2014-15 season and it showed in Toronto he wasn't 100% the entire year. It's easy to say it now given his goals in the Rangers but at the time, it was the right call. The replacement plan however, sucked.

Go back and read my posts from many years ago. I liked Grabner back then, too.

You worry about injuries with Grabner. I would take him back. Grabner would be great for the PK. I'm not sure what money he would be looking for?

Not really. But after 12 years of Garth, he's still a major upgrade.
- JohnScammo

Listen I'm not one of the people who think Lou is Jesus Christ superstar or otherwise on here but to say he is a major upgrade over Snow is a huge understatement.

I can't wait till the chimp Thompson is fired next

When it comes to players like de Haan and Grabner you bet I worry about injuries.

His play on isles and Toronto did not equal his play for NYR
- B.D. Gallof

He scored like 30 goals his first season with the Isles. Then Cappy and his coaching staff began to "help" him with his game....

34 and it was straight downhill from there until he signed with the Rangers and padded his stats with a ton of ENG's

As bad as Cappy was with Grabner, Grabner had his share of injuries. Sorry Jimmy.

You must love Josh Bailey who never gets injured. If you never block shots, and always avoid taking the body on a check, you're much less likely to get injured.

Considering how many games the Isles have blown in the last minutes of regulation, I'll gladly take empty net goals.

I have to credit Bailey for never getting injured. Take a lot of hard work.

For a team whose penalty killing has been atrocious at times for a while I would take him for that alone I'm not worried about him scoring 30 goals. If he could score 10 or even 15 and play on the third line I'm ecstatic.

Another thing I wouldn't complain about having. If you could get him for a reasonable contract id do it I mean look at our bottom 6

I would literally take him over anyone in our bottom 6 save for MAYBE Nelson and that's debateable

If it means he gets 50-70 points the last 2 years, I'll take it.

As long as Grabner is not looking to break the bank, it makes a lot of sense to bring him back.

There in lies the problem most likely. I probably wouldn't want him for what he's looking for but who knows?

Too bad that the other team scores more against our top line than our top line scores. If only the other team's goals didn't count....

Funny never heard you complaining between the time he left the Isles and finally started producing with the Rangers 2 years later

This is the thing Cpt. On talent along you bring back Grabner. The problem is some bad contracts on the Isles and fitting Grabner.

Forgotten stat

Still shocked because defensive specialist Bailey and penalty killer Tavares are on that line together. Weird.
