He might have flown home to talk it over with his family for all we know or they might have never even talked - Vukota
Oh my do you think Trotz ate with Lou and he liked what he ate? I hope he didn't get the runs!?!?!?!
Stfu up already it's almost as embarrassing as Toronto making a presentation for Tavares in complete desperation. I hope he doesn't go there more because of how pathetic they are then due to me wanting him to stay. |

It's possible he will forget his winning recipe for hockey success in a year. |

He may lose some of his luster maybe another even better coach becomes available. There are a lot of variables. If he got a really good offer from the Islanders it would probably be a good idea to take it unless he REALLY wanted that vacation(unless of course he just didn't want to coach the Islanders or work with Lou) |

That could happen but I'm sure they'll be more then one opening after next season and I don't see him getting any less because he sat out a year, its not like he'll forget how to coach. He might even get more if he has more then one team fighting for his service. Maybe he is a little leary working for Lou and his itchy trigger finger |

He'd be an upgrade over Prince/Quine. |

Maybe. I assume that some of these guys who have achieved success may be a little reluctant or would think twice about it. Trotz is obviously a big ticket item right now he just won a cup not saying he's going to be come a "Worse coach" but his value is most likely higher now than it will be IMO. Mayne I'm wrong? Who cares?
With this said if we don't get him I won't lose my mind. I'll trust the process and our GM. Something I haven't been able to do in over 20 years. |

I never wanted grabner gone. More like I wanted the (frank)ing chimp who was coaching (mishandling him)gone but who isn't an upgrade over Prince/Quine? |

Maybe Trots doesn't want to work for a guy who has no problem firing a coach while in 1st place with a handful of games left - Vukota

Can’t argue that one. I really thought Prince was blooming in that playoff series the year he came.... Then next season.... crapola.

I think everyone prefers a vet coach vs newbie
Plus a proven winner.
But... I do think if someone like DJ smith or Stevens is hired, should be better supporting cast. |

Trotz would be great, but it's not the end of the world if Isles cannot get him. |

You worry about injuries with Grabner. I would take him back. Grabner would be great for the PK. I'm not sure what money he would be looking for? |

I too was a Grabner fan. I never understood what he did (or didn't do) to get on Cappy and Snow's bad side. - JohnScammo
Having hernia surgery after the 2014-15 season and it showed in Toronto he wasn't 100% the entire year. It's easy to say it now given his goals in the Rangers but at the time, it was the right call. The replacement plan however, sucked. |

His play on isles and Toronto did not equal his play for NYR
