People saying we are in on Risto on Karlsson on Faulk and Skinner. All big names.

Trotz resigned... chances of him replacing McLellan? Maybe MacT can do another skype call...

Not likely me thinks. Chiarelli seems pretty invested McLellan.

I think roster construction and depth are a more pressing need.

Trotz should just get a job with Seattle as an "advisor"

Doesn't really gut us as neither the 10th or Yamo have done anything for this club.

Getting Karlsson would be quite big for the club. Rather that then moving LD+ for Karlsson

- Lahey

I'd rather see us try to keep Yamo if possible.

Klefbom/10OV/2019 1st (top 10 protected)? See if Ottawa bite on that. The only problem is I'd want an extension verbally agreed upon. Losing all that for just one year of Karlsson would drive a man insane.

I think that Yamo is a season away from making an impact for the club.
On another note, not many have talked about Benson. This coming year in the AHL is gonna be a big year for him. Can he stay healthy? Can he produce at a high tier level? He left the WHL on a high note. He is by far our best LW prospect.

Regardless, I would love Karlsson on this team. Possibly one of the only upgrades I would consider with regards to changing the dynamic of the defensive corps.

Yeah, this seems to be the case. I'm really shocked as to why Trotz resigned though.

At the moment, yeah.

Top 6 established RW.
Possibly an upgrade on defense (#1?)
And depth as you mentioned.

I just wanna know what Chia is thinking with regards to roster construction.

Yep

Would allow him to live where ever the (frank) he wants and pretend to be scouting at the expense of a NHL club.

All along part of the questions surrounding Trotz was his son and even before the playoffs there was talk of retirement. Maybe a job withe flexibility keeps him and his family happy.

That does make some sense then. But surprised that Washinton and Trotz couldn't work something out then and keep him in the organization.

We had believed Trotz was a free agent this summer. That’s not correct. There was a two-year extension if he won the Cup in WASH. But, as coaches’ contracts have exploded in value, it was below the current market. Both sides tried to negotiate an extension....

But they could not come to terms. Trotz is now a free agent, as WASH will grant permission to other teams who want to talk to him. 3/3

Doesn't really tell us much. There is a mention of a two year extension which seemed automatic, but they decided to negotiate something different.

Interesting as to this being the case.
Couldn't come to extension terms agreement. A lot can be speculated here as to why, but I'm willing to bet it's all about the mullah.
Looks like Lou is getting his new coach...
May the Trotz & JT era begin...
Unless that old fart Lou wants to coach the Isl himself.

Todd Reirden is the big wild card here too. A lot of people out of WSH were talking about him being the coach next year not that long ago.

I'm wondering if that's why WSH wasn't willing to break the bank on Trotz.

I think they would have parted way with Trotz if they didn't win the cup but seeing as they did it made things a little awkward.

I still don’t like the fit. Would decimate us and have us cap strapped even worse.
And I don’t see him and McDavid jiving.
