Jays gunna sell off soon?
- senstroll

No. They need the bodies in the line up for a couple more weeks.

Happ likely goes. I wish Tulo could be moved for a bag of used jock straps.

Why sell now? They are only like 12.5 games out of the 2nd wildcard;

- PatC80

Yeah seriously, they might as well be like the Leafs teams of old and go for 5th in the AL haha

You missed Hire Federov for assistant GM.
- Archaic

True... My bad, but that would have done more than just win over Max.. That would have made him drop a load in his pants while staring at photos of Dubas.

that would be epic... Right now the Orioles are basically the MLB version of the Ottawa Senators.

I find it genuinely entertaining watching the Sens, Habs and to a lesser degree the Canucks mess up their franchises...

having lived the Ballard bs for years... its simply great to watch the foibles of Melnyk and others...

Is Domi really a "character" guy?

At center, the options are more wide ranging. In free agency, the option that fits the Leafs situation best is 38-year-old Joe Thornton. The Leafs attempted to sign the veteran center last summer, but could not get both him and Patrick Marleau’s name on the dotted line. That may have been fortuitous, since Thornton had another season interrupted by a knee injury and surgery.

- mikeinbuffalo

The adjective fortuitous means happening by accident or chance. It’s synonymous with random and accidental. Fortuitous is often conflated with fortunate, meaning (1) bringing something good or unforeseen or (2) having good luck. Perhaps due to the words’ similarity in sound, fortuitous has long been used primarily to describe fortunate accidents rather than things that are merely accidental. Using the word to describe an unhappy accident would not be illogical, but it might confuse some readers.

My favourite part about the Jays right now is the attendance is dipping by a significant margin already. Which makes me happy the message to the team is "put good poop on the field and we'll give you barrels of money"

if not trying to play defense means he has character, then he has loads of it.

I think they need to start spending an being a player for big name free agents. They need to stop being cheap. Rogers

I'm hoping Shapiro and Atkins pick a direction now and sell assets and re-tool/rebuild. Then spend on big names instead of bringing in a guy like Granderson.

rumors i have are domi hated tochett. on the ice, domi was clearly trying to hard too keep up with the more talented keller. he needed to play his game.

he needed a change of scenery.

Domi scored 9 (frank)en goals last year, PLUS four of those babies were empty net goals. Galchenyuk for all his issues was a #3 pick that scored 30 goals in the NHL and was actually a centre when drafted. Hence, even Chiapet thought this deal was a dog as far as Bergy is concerned.

Honestly Galchenyuk apparently being a coke addict probably is the biggest factor in Mtl moving him.

As long as he signs that in Toronto. If he signs anywhere else I hope he gets greedy and asks for the moon.

- Thecakeisalie

Side note: co worker here actually got a pic (well his son did) with John Tavares over the weekend who was up in Toronto at some market. (it showed up in my facebook feed) Was funny he told him to say "go leafs go" instead of cheese for the picture. JT laughed and said hey Im an Islander. He didnt want to bug him to much as he was left mainly undetected/noticed. I called him up today when I got into work to ask him about it, and he said that he was a pretty cool guy, but could tell he was there just chilling and was hoping to stay under the radar and was there with his girlfriend.

I had said a while back that JT could possible come to TO, based on "the I know a guy story".... but apparently something happened between Shanny and Lou and this is why Lou left. No way Lou is letteing JT go, especially to Toronto. He is staying put on the Island.

There was an Ego problem there: Shanny, Lou, Hunter and Babs.

Cant blame Hunter exactly....whiz kid who is only 32 getting the reigns was tough to swallow for him. Same for Lou, if stuff went down and his contract was up no point in sticking arround here.

So the only thing to see happen, is that if the leafs will target Doughty which was the last thing this guy told me. July first is just round the corner now.
