It's more than the Senators would get from the Avalanche. |

i never said tavares wasn't worth it, and yes he is one of the top players in the league.
i just don't think that at team in the middle of a rebuild will get into a bidding war for a 28 year old UFA.
The rangers have a lot of good, but not great young pieces. if they want to rebuild properly, which it seems like they want to do, they'll do it through the draft.
spending 10+ mil for Tavares basically guarantees that they can't do that. he'll make them good, but they don't have enough high end pieces around him to make them great.
maybe they do, and if they get him then i'll be the first one back here to say you were right........i just don't see why they'd preach rebuild and then go after the first big fish UFA that comes along. it doesn't make sense.
just my opinion. - sensarmy_11
As I said, signing him doesn’t keep them from drafting anyone. I don’t see the logic. I don’t get how rebuilding somehow equates to losing. How does signing him guarentee they don’t draft? They’re not trading away picks and prospects. Right now they don’t have a full roster. Doubtful anyone they draft now plays next yer |

He will not tarnish his legacy by going to another ny team. Nothing wrong with those teams but people tend to remember those things. - Beatle_john
Yes, I’m sure that comes up all the time. Can’t tarnish my legacy. Lmao. Maybe he already has a home in city? As I first said, I think he stays with Isles. This is all based on slight chance he hits narket |

1st, I call bullpoop
2nd, in the unlikely event this is true, and Karlsson is extended, the deal (IMO) would be Ott 1st, Col 1st, Barrie, +, + - sensarmy_11
This is exactly the trade that I was thinking. You are bang on. This is what it will take to get the best defenceman in the league at the prime age that he is. Avs fans will probably figure that this is overpaying but it is not. It doesn't matter that the Sens are a poop show right now - that is the value of the best defenceman in the league and the Avs are one of the few teams who have the assets to pay it - and maybe more importantly, I think Colorado is a team that Karlsson would not mind playing for, considering the upward trajectory they are on. I think the + + in this trade though would just be a single + and that would have to be a B+ prospect not currently playing in the league.

Giving up Karlsson and Zadina/Tkachuk/Dobson for Trouba, a late 1st rounder, 2 seconds, some b players and a bad contract (Little). Not sure... |

Haha.....trouba, a late 1st, and some scraps for Karlsson and the #4 pick.
That package isn't worth either of those assets alone, let alone both.
From the jets
Ehlers, Trouba, 2018 1st, 2018 2nd

Jets don't have a 1st to trade in this draft so I'm not sure how that's gonna work

I believe there are two teams that can step up big for Karlsson...the Islanders and Oilers. Both need to add a #1 Dman to go with a world class centre.
I think Edmonton puts Draisaitl in their offer and that is the deal that finally gets done.
I am okay with the Sens dealing Karlsson. I am more aware of their need to change ownership. If ownership changes in the next 60 days Karlsson resigns in Ottawa. |

Unless Karlsson comes with an extension,. Oilers are not moving Draisaitl |

I imagine that if they move him it will be after 2 July so he can be moved with an extension....making his value that much higher |
