Even if Ottawa finished dead last, which isn't likely If they still have karlsson, you have a 75% chance of not getting him

So like I said.....enjoy

You do realize that 2019 has some studs at the top of the draft...its not just Hughes then the rest are crap.

They aren't desperate to trade karlsson.. ....hoffman maybe, but not karlsson
- sensarmy_11

They might be if Karlsson doesn't want to re-sign.

Isn't it pretty similar to this years draft in that sense? An amazing top player but after that it drops down a bit to Svech/ Zadina like players

If he still wants out at the deadline then for sure there will be desperation......there isn't right now.

A bit...but right now Kaapo Kakko from Finland is stud to watch and could be the Eichel to Mcdavid in the Hughes draft

Sounds like someone is holding on to a dream of not having a disaster of a team next year. You keep holding on buddy.

wait till July 1st to see what happens after he can official receive his extension. Based on current events, dont see how he would want to resign in 3 weeks. Then the desperation sets in as the Sens are on borrowed time going into the season

While I agree the Sens are a hot mess right now, there are some teams I think its safe tos ay are going to be pretty bad right next year.

New York seems to be all in on the rebuild, and Montreal isn't looking great either, (although price can change anything there)

Everything comes back to the goaltending in Ott. if they get anything close to league average they could be fine. If they get something close to last season. They are cooked

Send should agree to give this years pick.

Trade Karlson for this years #4 back + girard + a second this year

Now they get to keep next years pick too.

Dream on...He is not going anywhere. They are not trading the main piece from the whole reason to trade duchene in the first place.

real mess dorion made in OTT with the duchene trade...he should just trade Duchene to MTL for the 3rd overall this year and give the 4th to colorado so they can draft tkachuk and sens get zadina and the 2019 back.

From a scale of Matthews to McDavid, where does Hughes fall?

I guess the thing I like here is that the avs are in great shape no matter what. They can do nothing and get a great pick. It’s been a rough couple years so good news is a nice change.

Matthews, some sites say he could be better than him which might be a bit over hyped but at the very least he is in the Eichel/Matthews level adding to the American class of super talents

You say that....but all Ottawa needs is average goaltending and that might not even be a top 10 pick

Well if they get it via the draft that will take probably 2-3 years at the best. They could be a different team by then.

I think it’s premature to think the Sens are going to tank next year. The east is so wide open that teams that were in the playoffs this year could be dead last next year.

Anderson has always been a "bad one year, great the next". Not saying he"'ll be great, but high doubt he won't be better than this past year

I'm not dreaming that they'll get a playoff spot or anything.....but I'm confident that they'll be better than teams like Mon, Van, Buf, NYR, Edm, etc

Oh trust me we had him first. He was always really hot or really cold. Isn’t it interesting that’s yet another avalanche connection?

Hes 37, you cant assume that anymore, how many above league average 37 year old goalies are there. Hall of Fame ones perhaps and that is not Anderson

Its a harsh reality for a guy who was a late bloomer, had a good run of 8 seasons or so, but hes not some goalie from a high pedigree stock. I would temper expectations on him

NYR and Montreal have potential hall of fame goalies and cant count them out for propping up a team
EDM has McDavid.
Vancouver?????
Buf should be better but won't be a bottom 5 team for sure.

I think you are overlooking a lot of key factors here.
