The only 28 year old player in the prime of his career the rebuilding Canucks should go after is John Tavares, because he only costs you dollars, not assets!!!

Hell, why not talk the twins out of retirement while you're at it.

You aren't going to get flattering reports for the next tier D below Dahlin anyways. All of the 4 second tier D (Boqvist, Dobson, Bouchard, Hughes) all have flaws. Boqvist has concussion issues and is the youngest of the bunch but with the highest potential upside, Dobson is the safest pick with the all-around game but potentially limited offensive upside, Bouchard is the biggest and has the most NHL ready physique but has defensive issues and Hughes is the smallest of the 4 D and potentially might not be able to translate his offense to the next level.

None of them really excite me at 7, I know Ottawa wouldn't go for it, but I'd offer the 7OA + 37OA + Tanev for Karlsson and see if the pressure to try and get something for him before he gets too close to next July 1st and have nothing to show for him makes them receptive enough to do it. Then July 1st I try and sign Tavares, all of a sudden the outlook looks a hell of a lot brighter.

On Hanifin...

Many, many teams in on Hanifin...But the Red Wings are amping up their trade offer I am told...The Canucks are willing to give the 7th overall...

At least we all know it won't happen since EK is saying it.

If it actually happened for the 7th, I could live with it. Would Detroit part with #6?

I really can't decide how I would feel. A guaranteed top 4 draft pick next season would be nice. At the same time, I feel as if I could quit watching Canuck hockey all together.

Despite current management, they'll get better, just gotta be patient. It'll be the next GM that has success imo.

Dale Hunter on Evan Bouchard. I think Hunter might know just a bit about hockey...at least a lot more than us here.😁

I talked to Hunter a few years back at Mem.Cup and he said Juolevi was the bomb but yet he hasn't seen an NHL game yet. We'll need to be patient if Benning takes a Dman at 7OA.

JB will have success if he doesn't make anymore dumb trades. They have a good goaltender nearing the NHL. A few what could be higher end forwards with some complementary forwards. Just keep building through the draft. I don't care if he trades down. Just don't trade away any top picks in this draft.

Mexico getting closer on the counter. Germany will just press higher up the field now.

We're picking out of the top 5 and need Dmen badly. It would be fine.

Bob McKenzie: "Multiple scouts have Zadina falling out there top 5 now, I don't think it's cause he has done anything wrong with his game, but I think it's cause the centremen (Kotkaniemi, Hayton) and d-men (Boqvist, Hughes, Bouchard, Dobson) have really stepped up".

A dream to pick Zadina at 7.

Get Tavares or Thornton or Stastny to center Zadina and Pettersson.
