I will wait . I remember seeing Gaudette and EP playing in the young stars tournament and I thought they were both very skilled and close in talent. I know EP will be better but we were talking 6 months earlier.
I have liked what I seen from Gaudette but by no means is he crushing it in the NHL and I doubt EP will in his first year on this bad team. - VANTEL
For sure. But EP is several years younger and isn’t physically mature. I’m 100% certain Gaudette will be a solid NHL player but they will obviously provide different roles |

I think if EP played with skilled players his first year would be more successful . Unfortunately this is the Canucks |

Perfect - VANTEL
I dont want to see our good prospects fail with bad linemates. But they might have to struggle with it for a couple more years till our depth comes through. I dont want to go full Edmonton but we need picks to create depth for the team and for future trades. |

Yes, followed this team since i was 6 listening to my dads clock radio back in 78. What I want is a team buillt through the draft that knows when to sell, and when to buy to go for it. Learn the cap system and use it to their advantage. |

and just because dudes are old and suffered brain damage in the NHL for 15 years doesn't mean they're infallible and people should bend to authority. |

Trade Hutton for a 4th. Trade the second and 4th for a late first and draft Miller - CanuckDon
A 2nd and 4th will get us a 1st rd pick? Cool......

And the 7th selection van canucks select from Sweden adam boqvist and 1 year down the road he is still in Sweden and being called a bust at 18 - Bettmanhatesus
Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal is reporting some scouts question Bovquist's work ethic. Sounds like Ben Hutton 2.0 to me.

1) Jim Matheson's sources are usually his own ideas
2) his other sources are Oilers mgmt so that sounds like a guy hoping to spread a little discontent about a player the Oilers want to have at their spot
3) seriously, Jim Matheson? Bro Jake has more cred |

Not exactly flattering IMO - neem55
You aren't going to get flattering reports for the next tier D below Dahlin anyways. All of the 4 second tier D (Boqvist, Dobson, Bouchard, Hughes) all have flaws. Boqvist has concussion issues and is the youngest of the bunch but with the highest potential upside, Dobson is the safest pick with the all-around game but potentially limited offensive upside, Bouchard is the biggest and has the most NHL ready physique but has defensive issues and Hughes is the smallest of the 4 D and potentially might not be able to translate his offense to the next level.
None of them really excite me at 7, I know Ottawa wouldn't go for it, but I'd offer the 7OA + 37OA + Tanev for Karlsson and see if the pressure to try and get something for him before he gets too close to next July 1st and have nothing to show for him makes them receptive enough to do it. Then July 1st I try and sign Tavares, all of a sudden the outlook looks a hell of a lot brighter. |

I thought that was Mtl's move.
They are in a win-now mode, not us.
Plus, i'm not even sold on Karlsson anymore since his injuries...so....i'd pass on that one.

The only 28 year old player in the prime of his career the rebuilding Canucks should go after is John Tavares, because he only costs you dollars, not assets!!! |

No trading picks for players. This team badly needs too build through the draft.
At 7 and 37 we should get 2 quality prospects and Tanev should fetch us a decent return when Benning decides to pull the trigger. |
