The fact the Canucks have been terrible for so many years now and only come up with the 5th. They will find another way to frank up their draft position.
- Eldebrink

Some of that falls back on Management . When teams realize at TDL they suck they start to tank for position.

We are usually bottom three most of the year and at TDL make a push to increase our wins

Exactly, a couple teams desperate for centers who are unable to trade back could reach.
- Pres.cup

Centers are worth more then a winger. If the Center is better then the winger IMO.

I wouldn't put Hayton or Veleno above Walhstrom, Zadina, Tkachuk.

Knowing D are worth a ton too. Hughes, Bouchard, Dobson, Boqvist.

Ty Smith more points then Hayton in a lesser scoring league.

Add in Dahlin and Svechnikov who seem to be consensus 1-2.

That's 11 players then add in Kotkaniemi.

I could see Chicago going for Hayton or Veleno, if Kotkaniemi is gone.

Rangers took 2 centers last season. Doubt they are taking one if a D is still there.

I know fans here are impatient and want things now but there is no reason for Canucks not to get 3-4 first round picks next year .

Sutter in here has the value of a pack of chewing gum but most GMs see him as one of the best third line shut down centers in the league.

Tanev with a bounce back year and less injuries should be worth a first

Edler if you can convince him to change jerseys for 3 months and then extend him for his last contract could again land a first from a playoff team.

We need everything .

Our scoring is worst than our D

- VANTEL

Yes you could make an argument for that now that the Sedins are gone.

Hoping Benning has something up his sleeve to replace those points.

But I still think D is by far our biggest need...and goaltending lol.

Currently we have Tanev Edler OJ Gudbrandson .

We don't have a second line

End of discussion IMO

What, Eriksson Sutter and Petterson doesn't strike you as a dominant 2nd line?

I could see PTO with a 2 way for him ,at worst, might be good for the kids on the farm , that is of course if he still has some wheels ? IF Zadina fell to us at 7th , could you see the pick for Hanifin + ?

While Carchidi said he trusts Hextall to draft two quality players with those two first picks, he wouldn’t be surprised if Hextall considers moving up in the draft, using both picks to move into the top 10. With many scouts suggesting that the No. 3 through No. 12 picks are interchangeable, the Flyers may be interested in moving into that range. The scribe adds that one legitimate possibility is trying to acquire Vancouver’s No. 7 pick, which the team is dangling.

Two tier 4 picks to move up to a tier 3 pick. Maybe if we take Dale Weise back as well.

The New York Rangers seem to be in a unique situation. Despite the franchise suddenly finding themselves in rebuilding mode, the one thing the Rangers have plenty of is reliable centers. In fact, the team has eight potential centers currently on the roster, including Mika Zibanejad, Kevin Hayes, Lias Andersson, Filip Chytil, Vladislav Namestnikov, Ryan Spooner, Boo Nieves and Brett Howden. While some of those eight will be forced to move to the wing position, there is also a strong possibility that the team will move at least one of those centers during the offseason, and very possibly, before next week’s draft.

I just hope that if JB trades the pick its for something + .With our lack of depth we cant be using prospects as fodder. We tend to overrate our guys considerably at the lower half of the roster in regards to their value to other teams. JB still seems to be in denial of the status of the team and its immediate future, regardless of what he says in the press.

Hughes wouldn't fall to us. He would just leave us with the same need as before. A defender with top pairing potential. (it's been poured over, he's an inch too short).

I like too many people at 7 to want to trade down. I have 7 players I like. 1 of them is bound to be there.

No way in hell I’d stay put & select Wahlstrom at 7 if there was an opportunity to fill 2 future slots with 14 & 19.

I would stay . I was more than impressed with him at the U18. Every time he touches the puck it is a scoring chance

I would be okay with Miller and Veleno with the Flyers picks . Your center and your D
