I am actually one of those rare Canuck/Flame fan. A few years ago.... Holy crap, probably about 20... I had dinner with Mike Vernon at a charity golf tournament in Kelowna. Been a fan ever since.

Trading into the first round never made sense for the Flames. First round picks are ridiculously overvalued and it rarely makes sense to trade developed assets just to get into the first round. The Flames trading Brodie for a first round pick would be like doubling down on a 16.

Only way it would make sense is if another team wanted a first in a deal to get a scoring winger ...basically a 3 way deal ...even then it would be tough to do
