It just reminds me of when we acquired Hamilton when the Oilers were threatening to offer sheet him & we were the beneficiary of a trade. Flames are desperate for a top 6 RW & Stone would be perfect. Was wondering if a trade involving Brodie & Bennett for Stone + (would need a tweak like a 2nd round pick)Brodie & Bennett on very reasonable contracts & would help Sens be competitive next year. Brodie would be a great partner with Karlsson if he isnt traded. I honestly dont know what you do with Hoffman, as this unfolds & if it's bad, I would imagine he would be a buyout or traded toa team that would do the buyout for Melnyk.

Eugene would prefer to drive the value of the franchise down further before he is forced to sell.

We actually are expecting to see both Brodie & Stone being traded. We have Anderson who should have been in the lineup last year but there was no room. We expect Valamaki to make a case as well, he was a stud in the WHL playoffs & Kylington should be getting time as well. We also have Fox coming up soon as well.

Brodie was pushed over to the left side the last two years by our former coach. His best years were the right side with Gio. Hamilton is a RHD & Hamonic is a RHD, no room for Brodie on the RH side in the top 4 & Stone needs to go to make room as well. Kulak played with Hamonic the last 8-9 games last year & they looked solid together.

We need offence badly & our strength/depth is the backend. Thats why we are all expecting moves to our backend to get there. Add in how Peters has worked so well with the young D in Carolina, they were 1st in shot suppression in the league & the oldest D they had was Van Riemsdyke at 26. It just makes sense that Brodie is our best trade chip.

Overpaid? Yeah ok 2 more years at 4.6mill, has played over 22 minutes a game, has had over 32/points per year for the last 4 years. Yeah I guess at 27 he's washed up.

I'm one of those who's holding onto a small sliver of hope that there's another anonymous 3rd-party behind the Karlssons harassment. I'm telling myself it's possible that the Karlssons have assumed guilt b/c of past tension with Hoffman's gf. No doubt the comments about their child was the tipping point, that's repulsive. That's really the only way to get a positive out of the situation.

But even in that scenario, Hoffman may still need to be traded to fully extinguish the hard feelings. Would be nice not to have to give him away for next to nothing.

If I'm wrong, then my opinion changes drastically and I want him gone at any cost.

Sigh. Fun times for Sens haters.

I know as SEns fans were all beaten down by all this .And wish we could just move forward.Kind of hard too though.

There is only 1 solution. They both have to go. Even then the Sens camp may still be divided internally over all this. This is bad.

Also no way do Sens gamble a guarantee 4th pick for ...whats behind door #2.. No way can they afford to. Unless Colorado offers this years 1st and return the SEns pick next year..Then maybe they consider it.

Every time i think the Sens can't outdo themselves from the last poop storm, they go ahead and prove me wrong. Now i am wondering how they can top this Hoffman/Karlsson thing.

The only thing i can think of would be for Melnyk to sell the team to Donald Trump who would then invite Justin Trudeau to the first game and sit him in the nose bleed seats while Trump waves at him from a luxury suite wearing a "Make Ottawa Great Again" hat.

WTF took so long?? I feel like everything surrounding this team right now should be accompanied by Yakkety sax music.

And how long is it going to be until we hear more details on why the Karlssons are sure who was behind the cyber bullying? I get that it's a legal matter but at least a few more details will eventually make a little more sense

but The outrage machine was in overdrive the other day and out for blood.

Just hold off a minute and let it play out. If it comes out they’re guilty, sure, throw em under the bus

several, SEVERAL of the wives and girlfriends of the players have stated that they've seen Hoffman's GF "bullying" Melinda, and have stated that she was very outwardly and obviously OBSESSED with her.

all this sounds like is the 2 of them trying to save face, and save Hoffman's career

Agreed, unless you have links to those tweets. What I read was support of Melinda Karlsson, but it didn't necessarily state whether it was b/c of Hoffman's gf or the general online abuse on social media.

if you guys want to believe that then by all means..........when there are several people claiming she's guilty, and only her and her fiancee claiming she isn't.....i'm going to believe the accuser.

also, in order to file a protection order there needs to be a certain amount of proof. you can't simply say "she's bullying me" and then file it.

sure, there’s some people that believe it to be true for reasons only they know. And that may influence your opinion. but I don’t really put a much stock in social media gossip and Innuendo from friends of karlssons wife.

You’re totally entitled to see Hoffman’s/fiancée’s words in a certain light to confirm what you already believe if you like. That’s fine.

But the fact remains, it hasn’t been proven that they’re guilty and ima remain neutral until it has been.

Actually anyone can file for an order of protection as long as they can prove something happened, in this case there were tons of tweets etc. And if she feels it was her, she can still file without proof. An order of protection is just meant to make the person filing feel safe, not punish the person being accused.
