My daughter's BFF is an elite soccer player...for 10 year olds!

Kid is obsessed with soccer.

So tomorrow (I gave permission) they are leaving school to watch the Portugal game.

The kid's favourite player is Rinaldo.

Unbeknownst to me, Mrs. Wedgie ordered our daughter a Rinaldo Portugal shirt.

She's wearing it right now, and I think I'm gonna puke.

Christ,I hope you got the spelling correct.

I don't give two poops about what you guys think about Marincin after watching him play like poop, shift after shift.

Tell me what his advanced stats are, or frank off.

We need to sign Franson...

- Atomic Wedgie

If there's a single advanced stat that says he's playing well, then that stat is (frank)ing useless, and every time anyone brings it up I will ridicule that person relentlessly.

They've spent the entire series in the opponents zone. The must have tripled the Stars' shots in 7 games.

I watch the World Cup. Only certain countries, though. Canada (lol) and Japan.
- Steven_Seagull

Being a Leafs fan has trained me well to cheer for England.

I have a douchy sense of superiority based upon ancient history, so every time I think that England can win it all, despite overwhelming evidence that they have no chance.

Having said that, I really think this year is different. England has a young squad, and we are going to surprise everyone...

Canada has 8 years to get good at soccer.. I wonder if that's doable.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

4 years. Winter puts Canada at a serious disadvantage at developing soccer players.

But between TFC and the World Cup, in theory, it should make Canada at least respectable.

But this will always been hockey land. Always.

It's not even important.

The host nation gets in, and in 2026 there will be three nations.

The interesting thing that there will also be Concacaf games, so TFC might be part of the World Cup. It would be positive for North American soccer.

So Canada will be ready to win the World Cup at the same time the Leafs will win the Stanley Cup? Cool!

If you franking losers think for a moment that I'm ashamed for spelling Pretty-boy McDiverson's name incorrectly, you can go Marincin yourselves.

No we're not. We have a young team with an identity and a floor plan of how the team should play/operate. However, we have too many square pegs in round holes (not the manager's fault, who has done some great things since being appointed).

I don't see how Kane is going to get the service he needs. Alli and Sterling struggle doing what is asked of them in an England shirt because the play has to go through them as opposed to their clubs where Sterling finishes off moves from Silva and De Bruyne and Tottenham play through Eriksen and Dembele to a certain extent.

Either way, quarter finals will be a success but I'm not feeling good about their chances against Poland (most likely) or Colombia on the last 16.

At least we're better tha the Saudi's. The Senators are better than the Saudi's.

If it was even, I'd agree. But the Marlies are absolutely killing them and Texas is getting away with an insane amount of poop.

Go easy on the Saudis.

Putin was in the stands.

I'm pretty confident they were told their families would be poisoned if they put up any resistance against Mother Russia.

TFC will not be able to compete for the World Cup.

However, to what I understand from my Facebook feed there will also be an exhibition of Major League Soccer teams, meant to promote it on the world stage.
