If Ottawa moves Karlsson (e.g. Islanders) and if they get the Islanders two 1st round picks (11th and 12th) it would give Ottawa 4 first round picks. In that case I would see them surrendering the 4th pick (2018) to Colorado.

I see the Islanders putting a huge push on Karlsson as part of their trying to get to the next level with Tavares.

I don't see any way possible the Islanders can afford to pay Tavares and Karlsson's current contract, let alone afford to be able to extend him. And if they are paying a price tag of two top-12 picks and some top prospects/young players for a year of Karlsson then Garth Snow may as well still be in charge

I mean Dorion would be insane to not let teams speak with Karlsson agent to try and gauge his interest in re-signing there. His price would go up ten-fold if a team was confident, or positive, that Karlsson would sign a long-term deal there.

Lucic to hab makes alot o sense as long as they make them a good offer to take the contract. Habs are rebuilding so its not going to hurt them to have Lucic or the full contract but it wont be cheap for the oilers
