Take the #4 pick this year and move on. A lot can change in a year. I think it's only a short time until Melnyk is gone if the rumours are true.

I bet what happens is they patch things up with Karlsson, buyout Hoffman, get lucky and get Zadina at 4, and make the playoffs next year.
They're a lot like the Flames in that last year was a disaster, but they're a lot better than how things turned out. They shouldn't be blowing things up after one bad season. |

If Ottawa moves Karlsson (e.g. Islanders) and if they get the Islanders two 1st round picks (11th and 12th) it would give Ottawa 4 first round picks. In that case I would see them surrendering the 4th pick (2018) to Colorado.
I see the Islanders putting a huge push on Karlsson as part of their trying to get to the next level with Tavares.

Lucic to hab makes alot o sense as long as they make them a good offer to take the contract. Habs are rebuilding so its not going to hurt them to have Lucic or the full contract but it wont be cheap for the oilers

Please in your wisdom, tell us why the Senators would "buy out" Hoffman. You don't understand their are 30 other teams in this league?! One hundred percent guaranteed there's a team willing to trade for him, regardless of his girlfriend.
