I kind of always shake my head when I see people preach for a cause because of the simple fact that most people do not get active for a cause until it directly affects them or someone close to them. I dont think Carcillo gives a poop about anyone else but himself.

Yeah that and his best friend died at 35 because of it...

What about this. I know it might look bad but hear me out.

To Edmonton: Simmonds and Vecchione
To Philadelphia: 10 and Lucic

Yes Lucic has 5 more years at 6 million but basically it's like resigning Simmonds in a way. You also still have a big body, physical presence and probably a super motivated player after a down year. Edmonton wants to move him to free up space. They also get a solid player in Simmonds to replace Lucic and a bottom 6 guy in Vecchione. The price is the 10th pick for the Flyers to take on the Lucic deal.

Now Flyers pick at 10, 14 and 19. That's plenty of ammo to move up, stay and take best player available or even get a youngish NHL vet. You could even trade back and get even more assets like early 2nd round picks.

Does it work or is the Lucic deal just too bad to want to play with. For me I don't see it as that bad as i think that is where Simmonds will end up resigning around.

We had a good thing going but your dead to me

Lucic is far from what Flyers need. Flyers finally shred that Broadstreet Bully image, we dont need a dirty PoS to bring that image back to the Flyers. It is nothing like resigning Simmonds because unlike Lucic Simmonds can actually score goals. Lucic couldnt even hack it with McJesus. That contract is far from what we need as well. If the Flyers are going to target someone I would like Skinner from Carolina.

In reality most pressing thing for the Flyers is to dump their remaining bad contracts(AMac, Lehtera and Weise). Flyers have all the pieces they need. They just need time.

Hart will be our #1 goalie.
Most of our D prospects are up with the team.
We could use a 2nd line LW
A 3rd line C that can pot 40 points
Lastly a 3rd line RW if Flyers trade Simmonds.

Dont get me wrong there are some good people out there that do it for the common good but not many. Humans are selfish. We dont really do much if we dont get something out of it. One thing that determines how good of a person you are is if you are willing to do something good when it is inconvenient. Being kind when it is convenient is easy. Doing good when you would rather be selfish is what separates people.

Yeah, because Carrcillo was a jerk on on the ice, he has to be a jerk in his personal life too.

Think a lot people really believe they know these players because they watch them play hockey on tv...

Actually that's not at all a pressing need. The Flyers are looking at about 17M in cap space, which is before the expected increase in the Upper Limit. They need to add a few players whether that is from within or from outside the organization. MacDonald is still going to be a key player on the team and only has two remaining years left. Lehtera is a UFA after this season. Weise they can bury and add some more cap space. The pressing needs are to add a 3rd line center and who is going to fill in the last couple of defense slots.

It is. Regardless of who they pick up in the offseason the fact remains that the D is still inexperienced and out Goaltending isnt reliable. It is true FLyers could just waive a bunch of these guys and sign replacements but Time is still the most important factor

I can see Hextall parting with a 1st because we are solid prospect wise but I cant see Hextall trading Frost. He really likes the guy

I'm fine with Elliott for the next year or two. I would no longer consider Provorov and Gostisbehere inexperienced. MacDonald is a solid veteran and it depends on if Gudas remains or not, he is also experienced. If they were to move Gudas, I see Hextall obtaining a veteran defenseman for depth.

The whole front office seems to be gung ho about Frost.
