With Hoffman's career in hockey likely over now and Karlsson with good reason to ask for a trade (gotta think the organization heard about the Hoffman gf poop before it got released and did nothing) you have to consider giving the 4th overall up this year.

Sens could have Duchene and Stone and Richard all else in the lineup. Recipe for disaster.

I thought there was a small chance the summer could provide a time to get things under wraps, work on extensions, and get things back on track, but the summer has got off to a terrible start.

This is getting worse than the 2007 cup run fallout.

Benning, Chia, Bergevin, and Dorion all have claims to that crown

yup, exactly...plus the rumour talks of Dorion asking Sakic what can he do to give back the 2019 pick....simple, give up the 2018 pick.

It sucks for the fans bc this is a messy messy situation and the team is in for some dark days soon after the fall out of this offseason. Even as for PR, could be smart just to give up the 2018 pick so you dont have that 2019 storyline hanging over the team all season, especially when they are basically rebuilding

The dark days have been here for a long time now since the playoff run, when all you heard was they cant sell out, its a cinderalla team.

I like to think it has hit rock bottom now.only up to go

I dont think they give up this years pick. Afterall if they did trade Karlsson they will have a 1st rounder in 019. And if they are real bad next year then likely Stone and Duchene will be traded at deadline for more picks The team will survive and be stronger after all this nonsense

Or, you trade Duchene, Stone and Karlsson now for picks in both this year and next year, send the pick to colorado and pretty much guarantee that next years pick will be a top 4

That's what we all keep thinking, right before it somehow gets worse, but i still don't see how anything can top the last thing...

Given the seemingly endless derp at all levels of the organization at the moment, I would say this is way worse than 2007.

Follow up : could be a fake post. Checked Duthie on Twitter, no mention of above.

Getting worse? This is light years worse then 2007. Its not even in the same category. The only thing that makes this better is a new owner. He's a gigantic coward but I am hoping that the reason he or Dorion haven't really commented on the madness is because the team is about to be sold.

I understand the logic.
At this point though the Sens cant afford to start playing ..do i trade in my top 4 for a mystery box next year.
The only way i see it is if Ottawa gives Colarado this years pick in exchange for a return of next years pick back plus Colarados first pick this year
