The lesser of 2 evils.. I guess... save money but take more term ... they both commit the same idiotic penalties so that's a wash...

Nah. too many years left. The Kesler contract is going to haunt them already if he never recovers from his bad hip. I still think something is going to happen with Ottawa. I think Corey would go to Ottawa and the Sens have to get rid of Mike Hoffman. The anonymity of Socal would help both the Hoffman's. That is. unless Canada decides to prosecute her.

If Kesler is unable to play, doesn't he go on LTIR? At that point his salary is available to spend on another player (Sheldon Souray example with his wrist injury). No?

Ducks won't allow him to play at 60% going forward imo. Time will tell I guess.

Another year with Carlyle as the boss literally makes me not look forward to the season starting. Short leash or not. Anybody who doesn't think analytics mean anything is awful. How do you think Carlyle's practices go.

OK guys, in today's practice we are going to work on getting possession of the puck. You are going to skate hard to get center red. Dump it in and then chase it.

Then repeat for 2 hours.

Solid practice boys.

I feel us Ducks fans have forgotten how terrible it really is since the season ended what seems like forever ago at this point.

Yes they can. I believe if he is on LTIR the entire year, they get 80% back via the CBA.... I think... I could be wrong.

Ducks held on to their core a few yrs too long. Now cap trouble, fading stars with huge contracts. hawks are in same boat. This is why you NEVER give outrageous contracts that go passed the end of players usefulness

Easier said than done. You're pretty much handcuffed if the said player will command just as much, if not more, on the open market. It's the chance a team takes.

Think the Kings will regret Kopitars contract in year 6, or if DD signs an 8 yr. extension, his in the later years? Answer is maybe, maybe not. To be safe, do you trade them, let them sign elsewhere as a UFA?
