Trade McElhinney..assuming you can anything for him. 35 yo goalie with a career .909 sv%. He was good last season but does he do that again? doubtful
The Leafs drafted sparks and have put a ton of time and development into him. Would seem odd to just bail, especially after putting up some alltime numbers in the AHL this season. The Leafs have to also think past Andersen. Mcbakcup wont be around then |

You won't get a bucket of pucks for Sparks.
You won't get an empty puck bucket for McElhinney.
It's just the nature of the market - those goalies have no value.
The smart, safe move would be to dumb McElhinney and go with Sparks.
But I don't know - I realize I'm being completely irrational here, but to me, McElhinney was the better goalie last year. Hell yes, apples and oranges, but still... |
