I mean he gets injured, he's also better defensively than anyone on your team by a country mile. So... ya. You'd be lucky to get him, to say the least. Babs would get a lot out of Tanev and likely not have to use him quite as much (which would help the durability thing). - neem55

Probably from seeing it so many times on the injury report.
Or listed under "2nd pairing" on the Canucks' roster. |

I don’t think they list rosters like that in the team site. |

Yeah, I'm looking at it on www.DefencemenWhoSuck.com
As a Leafs fan, I find it to be a very helpful site. |

I find a more important stat is the ESTOI/G.
Tanev was actually 4th on the Canucks last year.
He got almost no PP time.
And he was their most important PKer.
He may have value elsewhere, but that's exactly what the Leafs do not need for next year. |

he's a 2nd pairing dman that kills penalties.
if we acquire him, he'd be forced to be on the top pairing. we'd play him +20 minutes a night and he wouldn't go more than 10 games without an injury. |

I find it's the best way to judge how a coach thinks of his players.
It doesn't work as well for forwards, but for defencemen, I don't think there's a better tool. |

So when he's traded for peanuts or not traded at all because the other GMs think the price is too high or he sucks what will be the excuse? |

I think trading the 7th overall is a bad idea in general. Canucks can hold onto it. Unless they think they can get the guy they want at say 10th spot and trade back to Edmonton and pick up a 2nd or 3rd rounder. |

I will be extremely disappointed to the point I'll walk on these clowns if they trade the 7th overall pick for a player. I could handle Noah Hanifin straight up, or, for a bit player and our first as an addition, but, that's it.
Only because Hanifin is 22 next year would that be an acceptable return IMO. Trading for a guy like O'Reilly is a non-starter with me because of his age and how many holes there are in the rest of the lineup.
Moving down is fine, because he'd capture another pick most likely, which is what they need to do at this point in their evolution.
Why the continual shortcut route, it just baffles me as to what they're thinking? - LeftCoaster
As I said over the weekend, I will break things. I know I will need a new television and a new lap top, to start with. |
