Oh... snap

Or they could just let Jake hit on her until she decides to move out of the city.

In all seriousness though, I probably wouldn't trade Goldy for Hoffman. Sure Goldy might not turn out to be a full time NHLer but I'd rather take a shot at developing him than trade for a guy who will be too old to play a role with our future core.

I agree.... just don't want O'Reilly, I'd rather trade the 7ov for hanifin.
O'Reilly is good, but we need D more. If we could sign Carlson and trade for O'Reilly then the rebuild is over....
I'd rather sign Taveras and trade for hanifin....

- Pres.cup

Im more for trading for short term budget players or signing low cost free agents to fill the roster while we stockpile and over ripen our talent pool in Utica.

I really don't get all the the dislike for a 27 year old 2 way center that averages 60 pts 22 G over the last 5 years . He plays PP and PK .

Someone needs to explain this?

- VANTEL

Its not dislike at all. Good player, just not for us at this point in the "rebuild". Especially if it is taking away 1st round picks and lowering our prospect pool to aquire him, which it would. 2 more years of stockpiling and pain my friend before trading for a player like this. Use that cap space to deepen our draft pick pool instead. More picks means more chances.

1. Too high of a cost to acquire too high of a cap hit.
2. Says he's lost the love for the game. He's been on bad teams, pretty much his whole career. Aside from 2 years in the playoffs? (with AVs). Once was his rookie year too. How good is VAN going to be next year?

Would I love to have the player ROR on the team..... sure. But.. above.

need to 10000% disagree here. Two year left on a decent contract. Guy would immediatley be our number 1 LW and score 30 with Bo and Boeser. We could trade him at the 2020 deadline for 5 Goldobins.

Even this analytic site has concerns about your boy and have ranked him at 10th, also suggesting Bouchard is a better pick.

They also think that he's 65lbs... so I'm gonna take it with a grain of salt.
He's ranked anywhere from 5 to 10, has the hardest shot and is the 2nd youngest player, I'm not worried.
Tchunk is almost a full year older then him in terms of development.

He does not have the hardest shot. Let's stick to facts today. Fact #1 - he is a 165 pounds. That is a quantifiable stat.

It's all hypothetical as I think we all know Goldobin wouldn't be enough. My thought is that I'd rather not give up players in the 20-26 range in trades if we don't have to but I do see the merit in flipping him for greater value.

He's got the hardest shot out of the 4 defensemen that we're talking about.

You want to talk facts:
Boqvist is 165.4 lbs and 5 foot 11.5inches
If he was a week older he would be a 2019draft pick.
He's bigger and faster then Hughes.
He's younger then Hughes.
The only reason Hughesis rated higher is because he's north American.
Hughes has better lateral movement and could be a better passer.

That might actually be quite debatable right now. He is seen as toxic and his value is going to be pretty damn low. Goldobin is on the upswing. If you have to throw in say Hutton and Ottawa adds a 6th, I think youve got the basis...

But I'm throwing darts at a board and dont know my ass from a hole in the ground...

He is worth at most 6m cap(5.5 at the time i'd say), Buf had to pay extra to keep him because they were poop and still are poop. So he is overpaid by about 1.5m-2m. He also is not worth the cost to acquire him. RoR with an overpaid cap is not worth 7oa, this is where the hate comes from.

Well apparently the trading price was Tanev and Jake. Benning seems to be serious so lets sit back and see what he does in the next 30 days

Proportionally, the goals we are missing are from defensemen.
- NorthNuck

Chicken or the egg?

Forwards that don't go to the net , can't keep the possession in the other end, can't score when passed to , don't screen the goalie .

Dmen that can't shoot or pass , can't defend.

Which one is the problem?

We also said Dorsett Sutter and Sbisa were overpaid.

I imagine if Benning did land ROR he would immediately turn to the Ducks and say Sutter and his 4.35 mil contract 3 years is now available for your first and a prospect

Out Sutter Tanev And the 7 th

in ROR 23rd and prospect

Personally i think our first pick should be good out of all these players. We need to hit on the other rounds and find the gems.

I made a lengthy post a few weeks back about how we needed more goals from the defense and listed off how many we got vs how many we need. We can blame the forwards for a portion but the numbers show the Dmen need to be a lot more involved. Thus the need for drafting a top end D with offensive upside this year.

When teams like Arizona are outscoring your Dmen something needs a fix.

Haven't all the scouts been saying that one of Boqvist's biggest assets is a cannon of a shot?
