Botchford is far from credible. The problem is that most of the TSN Vancouver crew are all ex-Sports Page alums and aren't insiders anymore. They were hack journalists that barely passed their exams in BCIT and were lucky enough to get hired by Paul Carson who produced Sports Page at the time. - DariusKnight
I think most of them know as much or less than we do but I think guys like Patterson and Botch that actually hang around the Canucks know more than the rest.

Cite an example please....
And I would agree with the rest. Shorthouse is the only guy with talent from that era..... |

Tony Gallagher was credible, so was Neil McCrae back in the day, Botchford when he came here was credible until he got a guest spot on the radio and then started being "Shock Jock" Botch |

The thing that bothers me lately is the fact that guys that have very little or no value will be back on our team again next year. Benning has a blank canvas and should be selling off guys like Sven Hutton and more. If no one else wants them then say adios and find new players. |

Doubtful, while I wouldn't regard them as actually sources, being in the business would provide them with actual contacts, unlike the rest of us.
I mean, my buddies daughter is married to a pro player and former NHLer with Florida and I get all the stories but I couldn't tell you poop other than the car's these guys drive and how much they drink haha |

He does stir the pot but I don't think he is making stuff up or his access pass would be removed

This exactly, I hate seeing Baertchi in the top 6 of most rosters. Cant see Granlund even making the team |

Who is out there that provides a better option that also won't cost us anything? This line of thinking is so strange to me. It's rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic to do that. May as well continue to develop these young players and try to make something of them rather than give up on them and just having a carousel of mediocrity. |

Of course there is, but I bet you that whatever he's told isn't what is actually going on, and he's putting out his analysis and his own slant on it. He's perfect for the market actually, he's the certain portion of the fanbase's voice, and because he's so popular with that portion he can get away with a lot. |

Come on really ? You think bringing back Gaunce with his 6 goals in 4 years at 800k is a better option than Maroon at 1.5 -2.5?
Canucks have close to 30 mil in cap space . It is okay to try something new . A guy like David Perron can be 3 mil player and easily replace 1 mil Granlund .
Derek Ryan might be better than Nick Dowd ???? Maybe? |

Benning will stick with the guys he's brought in until he can draft an upgrade or trade them and all his picks for a perceived upgrade. |

I remember him saying at the draft he was there , there was a deal on the table for Bozak Kaddri and a second for Luongo. He said he was there he seen it and Luongo said no. I don't think he was making that up. |

Now youre talking 4th line guys...that makes more sense than dumping Sven for the sake of dumping him.
In an ideal world Sven is your 3LW. You play him in your top 6 until there is someone better and at this point there isn't.... |

I have always said Sven is a third line guy. same as Sutter.
IMO Bo Brock EP Dahlen are Top 6 guys . I hope Canucks draft a forward and then one more top 6 guy needs to be brought in. in the next year or two. |

Baertschi had some good chemistry with Horvat and Boeser last year, is he a top six guy, probably not, but like you said, you don't change him out for the sake of it, you wait until you produce a better option then get ride of him. |

I'm hoping Dahlen is a better version of Baertschi and he pushes him out the door for a pick in 2019. |

You have 9 third line players pick 3
Sven probably has the best trade value of all the third liners aside from Sutter |

I like them all (aside from Pratt). They're just radio hosts. Not insiders. Moj will mention the odd "what I hear" but far from an insider. They have to have some kind of opinion otherwise it'd just be DTMZ all day long. I take anything that they say with a grain if salt.

I don't hate him, again, he's perfect for this market. I give him credit for managing to sell himself and The Province with his "Shock Jock" Botch persona. |

Did you try trade the 7th pick, in the mock draft, or was it bpa? |

Yup, could happen. I'd also just like to see Sven play a full 82. He could be a 25 goal guy or very close to it.
I've mentioned it before, but:
Tanev at TDL (gonna go east in UFA after the next season anyway?)
Edler at TDL
Spare parts that can be moved at TDL
Load up on picks for your home Draft.
Resign Edler in summer. He love sit here so much u offer him 2 years. 3 max. |

Smartest thing Canucks could do is draft their center Kotkaniemi |
