i was hoping to like him since I like moneyball type of picks, but his stat line looks more impressive than his actual play. He floats around, gets caught out of position or puck watching, and seems kinda soft. He's good on the PP though and has good skils.

I'll be disappointed if he's the pick at #7, but I prefer him over Boqvist, the lesser of the 2 evils I guess.

Would rather just draft a forward instead of those 2.

he puts ekblads numbers to shame in his same draft year , he needs the challenge of higher competiition , he'll be alright as a pro i think and sooner then later to boot

Forwards always look better. Need defence sometime.

Nah, I'm 100% cool with taking Hughes or Dobson at #7 in this draft if they're available. I just prefer a forward over those 2.

He's John Carlson type defender...... who is still a good number 2 and scores quite a few points. Worth an 8-12 pick in this draft is Bouchard.
- manvanfan

I don't think he'll be as good as Carlson, a poor man's Carlson is what I'm guessing. Carlson is a better skater.

I actually think Hughes is the most nhl-ready outside of Dahlin with the way he skates and plays(not saying he'll make the nhl right away, just that he's the most likely).

Dobson needs to add weight to his frame, Bouchard's defensive game needs A LOT of work, and Boqvist is the least ready since he needs to add weight and work on his defensive game(both facets aren't close to nhl ready with him)

Disagree with pretty much all of that. I think there is a decent chance Bouchard sticks next year but it will be dependent upon which team picks him.

Those are the betas

Alphas are solitary as (frank)

But seriously, I like Bouchard with the puck better than Dobson and even Boqvist, he's definitely a point producer. It's his game away from the puck that I don't like at all.

when you play the most against the best all year and your 17 in the Ohl i give you some slack if your defensive game looks bad

I’m okay with Dobson or Bouchard. A good defensive coach could help Bouchard. Dobson and Bouchard could be a nice complimentary piece with Juolevi

fair enough, I just don't like drafting prospects with questionable hockey sense. Dobson and Hughes come off as smarter players when I watch them play.

OJ is more of a puck mover than a defensive dman, so Dobson would actually complement him better since he's a guy who projects as more of a shutdown guy who can also move and skate with the puck.

I know he had some gaffes in the Memorial Cup, but generally he's solid defensively. I think he tried doing too much offensively on the big stage and it hurt his defensive game. To me that's something that's easier to fix than Bouchard's weaknesses.

Plus Bouchard is already more physically mature than Dobson, Dobson could hit another level once he's strong enough to actually out-muscle players.

He'd probably be right around 10 for me right now. Boqvist just outside of the top 10, I'm guessing. But I want to watch more of some players before posting a list.

Especially Wahlstrom/Tkachuk/Kotkaniemi and 2/3 other forwards who I really think are underrated and projected to go in the mid/late 1st.

Considering who was left in they mock draft I think he's an excellent pick. I'd be happy with him in a real situation draft if that's how they fell.

LW is also an area of need!!

Dahlen Horvat Boeser
Tkachuk Tavares Petterson

It's kind of hard to be wrong when we need players at every position.

I don't think I've ever posted who I want the Canucks to draft. Really because other than a few highlights, I don't know these guys enough. Rarely do. I never even looked at EP prior.

If it is a straight up for 7OA, I wouldn't be that against Hanifin. But would prefer to use the pick ourselves.

I'd like Wahlstrom or Tkachuk. Goals win games. Goals are good. Brady offers an element that any team would love and I believe he is in College a year before BB was. Altho he is one of th eldest in the draft correct?

I'd take my chances with a F. Try and land another 2nd and take 2 Dmen in the 2nd rd. Or move up into the late 1st and grab one there.

I dunno. I'll probably change my mind tomorrow.

My final statement: I'll back any pick by JB and Brackett. Just make the pick.
