It addresses the perceived need of the 3 teams. I thought Hanifin was a RHD, so as a sabres fan, I don't think it works anyway.

Ristolainen is going to be an absolute stud when he's not asked to play 30:00 a night. Trading him for anything short of an absolute haul would be a travesty.

Does not compute. "Stud" defensemen are supposed to play a lot of minutes. He currently plays about the same number of minutes as these so-called "studs" but he's not nearly as good.
Him playing less minutes and being a little better would make him "above average".

That sums it up pretty well.

Buffalo would be absolutely stupid to trade Risto. I mean what are the Sabres going to gain by trading their #1 Dmen with absolutely no one to replace him. Buffalo is in no position to be trading anyone at this point unless they are dumping dead weight. Only guys worth noting are Eichel, RoR, Reinhart, Okposo, Risto and Lehner on that team.

Rest of the team are unproven youngsters or trash. Buffalo has nothing to to gain from trading any of those names.
