Finish a $15 order from McDonald's. Poster's choice. I'm thinking a couple fish fillets, big Mac, large fries, chocolate shake, breakfast burrito and a McMuffin.

Hahaha ! This could get really interesting. Should let all the posters post an idea for Gerbe and everyone vote on it at the end.

Hey Mike, is Calgary allowed to trade into the first round for the purposes of this mock draft? Bottom ten mind you, nothing crazy. I would like to trade Adam Fox. Man we would love to have him but he expressed feelings he would like to stay in the States. His accolades so far speak for themself.
If that works for you that is.

No one is giving up a first for a player who may or may not sign. The Sabres barely got a first for Evander Kane

Well compared to Laine he has underwhelmed so far.
However, he has roughly the same stat line in the NHL as ou4 boy Nylander has in the developmental league.
So, while I’m sure there is frustration there with him, I do think the CONCERN for Nylander is more justified.

His backers will defend him in 3 more years time saying He is only 23 and it is crazy talk to give up on him though.

Funny you mention him...wonder if the Oil would consider trading him for Bustlander straight up?
I’d do it in a heart beat.

I also wonder what it would take to pry Garret Sparks from Toronto.
The Sabres should consider making that move...pair him and Ulmark and let them fight it out for #1 duties.

You’re right, you can’t consider him a bust. However, the fact that Matthew TK, Keller, Sergachev, McAvoy and others have already shown they can be great players in this league, Nylander has been a disappointment. I understand it’s a marathon and not a sprint but Nylanders production at the AHL level is downright disgusting. If he wasn’t an 8th overall pick he would have been in the ECHL with those numbers. And for all of the “he could have been still in the OHL producing good numbers” why was he the 5th best player on his own WJC team this past December ?

I will give him this year to make a move, show signs of developing properly.
At his age and skill level, I would expect 20/25/45+ out of him.
Short of that (.5 PPG rate) and Im ready to move him before there is absolutely no value left.

Why would they trade us their best goalie prospect ? They’ll ship him out west.

Different management group. You have to remember Sparks got the Leafs Matthews too right. His GAA that season was .898. But yea he’s lighted up the AHL the last two years and has developed more as a prospect. Regardless of the fact, they wouldn’t trade him to us.

No, his backers won't defend him at age 23. I'm one of those that defend him because of his age (and, imo, it's unfair to him to call him a bust at 20, especially after an offseason where he supposedly worked his arse off to add muscle, only to see him get injured and set him back) and that I think he was rushed into the AHL unnecessarily, but quite honestly, I couldn't give a flying (frank) who plays on this team, as long as we're winning and making playoff runs towards a Stanley Cup. My days of being a fanboy towards individual players are long gone. Just win.

His value is not that high he's probably worth a 3rd or 4th in a trade

What's Grubauer's worth? That's the goalie they should go after.

Our 32 and I don't want to waste another pick on a goaltender when there's going to be first round Talent right where we're picking

No thanks
