Wahlstrom.
- thundachunk

Oh that's not nearly as bold as Boqvist.

I can get behind Wahlstrom at 3.

I really don’t see it. They play very different styles. If anything, Wahlstrom is more similar to JP lol(not saying he’ll bust, especially with his shooting ability).

Puljujarvi’s scouting reports always raved about his skills before mentioning his smarts. Zadina doesn’t rely on his speed/size as much as Pulujarvi does. He can play along the boards and cycle the puck if he has to or just find the soft spots in the offensive zone and get open to score. He’s a really smart player. Smart and talented players usually only bust if they’re too small or too slow and I don’t think he is.

I also think it’s too soon to write off JP, hell some people here still think Virtanen will be a legit top 6 player.

I agree Zadina is the logical pick but Wahlstrom is very close imo.

Pool party still should be good... Although I wouldn't be surprised if EDM (frank)s him up. To be fair though I was one of those idiots questioning if he was better than Laine...

Found it. I'm still not worried, need to take risk eventually and I don't want I safe pick.

You'll want that safe pick back when the risky pic turns into dogpoop

I was one of those idiots too, but I gave Button too much credit back then and I remember him pushing that narrative all season long. I don't really factor in what guys like him and Pronman say anymore lol, just read their rankings for fun.

Actually three concussions in a 1.5 years. That’s a big deal for a runt
- CanuckDon

I've found news of him missing half a game and another 2 games over the course of the past year. I can't find the third and don't see anyone of the scouts raising flags about it.

agreed. He's got the best shot in the draft IMO, it's unreal. Can skate and dangle, I'd probably have him above Zadina if he was NHL ready but physically is not quite as able to battle yet. Might end up the best forward.
- neem55

unless a top3 fall to us he is likely our best choice

yes, yes it is indeed. that makes him a poor choice. Could end up playing 0 nhl games due to it as well.

This is exactly the place I'm at. I like Veleno, Boqvist or Wahlstrom in our spot.

I thihk he is really good. Svech is better. Wahlstrom could end up better as could a handful of other forwards.
great thing about JB is: no one ever seems to predict who he'll pick, but he seems to know who to pick. Makes the draft so much more fun. I'd hate to be a Ott/Mon fan know your GM may very likely poop the bed

Veleno doesn't scream high upside to me. He's got some nice puck skills but doesn't exactly play a dynamic game offensively. Boqvist and Wahlstrom, sure. He'd be an awful pick at 7 imo.

I think he and Hayton are being pushed up draft boards since this draft is weak at C. In normal years, they'd be talked about more in the 20-30 range.

I don't see how a guy like Veleno has more upside than someone like Berggren when I watch them play.

The Canadians have had a good weekend at the Paris Rugby 7's, the women play France for Bronze at 8 am and the men play for bronze at 9:30 am.
