Seriously. Can't believe a stiff breeze can knock a guy down that is that ripped. Does NBA test for PED's?

I'm not a LeBron fan despite what my comments may suggest (I appreciate his greatness), but he gets fouled all the time without getting calls that do go to other players because he's so much stronger through contact than just about anyone else.

But I wasn't comparing the Heat vs. Bulls. I was comparing LeBron's finals teams against their opponents. LeBron's finals teams in Miami were better than Dallas, the first Spurs match-up, and OKC. Every finals Cavs team he's been on has been worse than his opponent. I do think Cavs with Kyrie and Love win the first match-up against Warriors. Maybe even Cavs with Kyrie and no Love win. But that's not the series we got.

MJ never played a finals against an inferior team.

Because his team always had the 🐐.

And yet he flops like a fish.

See, and I actually am a LeBron, a pretty big one. I just cannot, no way, call him the best. He has a habit of not taking THE shot, sure, he did that one time and it was great, but more often than not he passes it off. And the aforementioned egregious flopping.

The Jazz were deeper both years. Malone and Stockton are pushing MJ and Scottie for best duo ever. And there was at least one, often more HOFers on the teams Jordan beat. Magic, Barkley, Payton, Worthy, Malone, Stockton, Drexler. Hornacek was no slouch.
- Wetbandit1

I'm not saying he didn't play good opponents. I'm saying he didn't play better teams than his own. He didn't. It doesn't diminish MJ. It diminishes the narrative surrounding LeBron's record in the Finals.

LeBron has as many game winning buzzer beaters in the playoffs as Kobe and MJ combined, though.

The Jazz were a better, deeper team, both times. MJ won both of those series, one in epic fashion.

87-86? That must've been the end of the 1st half, right?

I liken the whole thing to Gretzky/Lemieux and Crosby. Different eras, all 3 dominated like no one else, but Gretzky is the undisputed GOAT. Lemieux likely would have been had it not been injury/cancer and early retirement.

But you can't say he doesn't take the shot when it counts and then discount the numerous times he's done so by saying he doesn't do it when it counts.

Every shot that wins a playoff game counts, a lot.

Edit: I'm not arguing who's better. I'm just responding to arguments against him that I don't think survive meaningful scrutiny.

Where I circle back to is, today, one player can take a team on his shoulders and do what James did this year. Easily dispatching inferior teams, except it wasn't so easy for him this year. Back then he(the single player) couldn't because the talent was much more evenly spread throughout the league. A few guys gave valiant efforts, like Barkley and Reggie Miller. But they were overrun by these full teams like the Jazz, who may be the best team over the course of a handful(17 in their case, 6 of which they played at least 16 games) of years to never win. Maybe the Suns for that handful of years.

So a player that has to hit buzzer beaters because he can’t pull his team ahead during the game makes him better. Got it.

Old ppl.
Grasping onto the past as if the former perceived glory of America didn’t include all the horrible & selfishly greedy actions committed over & over

If you’re in the 1%
Then i get it. U should wanna keep things the same
But if you’re in the 99% and don’t want change- REAL CHANGE- then you’ve just been duped

Get ‘er done Stevie!

I’m hoping that my 2nd team takes a run at signing JT.

His talents would fit in quite nicely centering Kucherov and Stammer on the top line...replacing Namestikov there.
JT Miller was pretty good, but he didn’t move the needle enough.

It would be a tough fit a $10m contract, but they would need to show some aged vets the door...like Chris Kunitz, Dan Girardi, Andre Sustr...that gets you $8.5m there...so it is close with the balance absorbed by the $2-$4m expected cap increase.

My gut tells me he is here another year...allows them to see how well Mitts adjusts and if he can take over 2C so early...as well as Asplund and other newbies to see if they have a viable 3C who can assume the defensive responsibilities.
Once they have those answers, I think they deal him then.

Else, JBotts needs a hell of an offer for him to take the risk now.

I was called an old man at 40 a few days ago.

People were concerned about me breaking a hip in an altercation .

I guess age is based on perspective sometimes?
