Well u already admitted there’s nothing u can do to stop a govt takeover other than “make a dent”
So this whole line of thought is just nonsense either way

Again...
the 1% (govt) already has all the wealth
What exactly do u think they’re gonna take over?

- jdfitz77

Maybe. Or maybe some people are willing to fight to the death to not find out what a government can do to you. Either way, it's Friday, I like the cut of your jib. I gotta raise a baby and somehow collect a buzz. Keep fighting the good fight. Or don't. It's your right.

Thanks for the discussion gents.
You are all good folks with different views.
I wish our country could have an honest discourse on this and other matters...as I think many opinions are valid and would lead us to a solution.

Also, I would like for our country to also recognize the opioid epidemic and address it as well...so sad what is going on there.

I am stopping my participation going forth as I sense I have reached the end of a reasonable discussion

Now, should we trade ROR or not?

Fair enough

One last time...
anyone who wants to take away ALL guns is an idiot

Just as big a jackass as the clowns who think they need AR15 type weapons for “protection”

To get back to the original point...
many reasonable things can & should be done
And it’s todays youth that’s driving a lot of these changes

I'm not against them, let's get that out of the way.

If you think a rifle is a good self defense weapon. Then you don't really care about over-penetration and plain missing your target. Unless you're using frangibles that breakup on impact, that shot that goes through the bad guy is also going to go through your wall into your neighbor's house as well. And if you miss(you will) it'll go that much farther.

I already said it once, automatic weapons are not illegal. They're just hard to acquire.

- Wetbandit1

I'm not saying an AR-15 is the best weapon either, let's get that out of the way.

There are tons of better and worse guns. I'd say the best self defense weapon I own is my .357 mag because it makes so much noise for a small/quick gun. I'd rather scare someone than shoot them regardless of what they're up to. Fire one through the ceiling of my house and any intruder would at least really consider their next move.

However, the point I was trying to make is that automatic guns aren't being used in most of these attacks, it's semi automatic weapons. Semi automatic guns count in the hundreds of millions in the US alone, so if that's the case, we are really talking about mass confiscations.

If "assault style weapons" or semi automatic weapons are made illegal I would be obligated to turn in my .308 I use for deer hunting and my father's .22 that I hunt rabbits in the garden with.

And no, I live in East Otto, New York. I do not care about over-penetration at all.

So I missed th3 game last night and just now saw the replay of Ovi grabbing Lod Stanley’s Cup to hoist it abov3 his head....
Man do I love that, to watch somebody achieve their goal through the most difficult playoff a sport has is just incredible to me.

Good for Ovi...he played th3 best I have ever seen him play and he was th3 for e to motivate that team to achieve greatness.

When can we all celebrate the Sabres doing the same?
Can Our new core get us to that place?

Again...
why can’t we make hunting rifles that can’t be modified into the weapons being used in these horrible disasters ?

Doesn’t that seem reasonable to you?

Maybe if they finish all their protest or proposed policy change with a prayer,
then they’ll get some conservatives to not outright hate their fascist liberal agenda?

I know I am late to the party here but:

A shotgun is a much better method of protection at home

But as far as someone wanting to own an AR-15 in my eyes it's the same difference between someone wanting a BMW.

A ford focus will do the same thing the BMW will, just like a hunting rifle will do the same thing an AR-15 will.

One is more expensive with fancier upgrades and options.

A car kills way more people a year than any AR-15.

In my eyes any gun in the wrong hands is a tool of death. The same way a car driven by the wrong person will end up a tool of death.

The tool the person uses isn't the issue. It's the person.

Mental health in this country went to poop with all of the pill giving doctors there are. Paramedical companies are a major issue in this country, buying off doctors to prescribe their drugs.

Basically health care in this country is out of whack.

Well there's more important things then money in this world to some. Actual Hitler (not Trump who's not in the same ball park) had other things in mind. I'm not gonna guess what an individual or a collection of individuals would want to do but is also rather not find out. And unfortunately, I live in the way less cool middle part of the country. Prolly haven't heard of it. Hint, it's South Dakota. Bonus points if you don't ask if you know that we have cars and don't ride horses unless we wanna. San Diego is awesome though, I agree.

So let’s do something about it

Create new guns that can’t be modified
Offer an exchange for weapons already owned that can be

Fund it with taxes on making Pot sales legal
And legal sports gambling
BINGO!

There’s certainly A LOT of issues that need to be addressed

One of which,
Is that “we can’t do anything about it attitude” so let’s just not try

That’s just lazy thought right there

Bottom line
Of course u should be able to hunt & prtect yourself
We just want u to do that with weapons that can’t be modified to kill dozens of ppl in a few seconds

I think that’s a reasonable ask

The 1% has been brilliant at using fear mongering to push its agenda for probably about a century now
Maybe even longer
