You know Florida is a fairly large state, and that, especially in Florida they get a lot of scattered showers, so it can be pouring in one place and 4 miles away the sun is out.

I think these two fall into the latter.

Okpsos and Sam have been moved around or have spent time on 3rd or 4th lines where they weren't getting beneficial ice time.

55 and 90 never have been toyed with

- sbroads24

So much of all their production comes from the PP. Reduce that and they all suffer a lot. If GM's over value them because of pure points, trade anyone you can.

Yeah, I remember talking about it. Jones' perceived value went way up because of this, really good, season. And for someone who(Gerbe obviously) puts no stock into single seasons it's really quite funny.

Dude 3 years ago Ristolainen was the next franchise defenseman of the Sabres

Now a good number 2 or 3

It’s actually BOTH in some ways (your theory)
- jdfitz77

Sure, but it tilts one way or the other.

There’s a lot of factors that go into how productive a particular player is

O’Reilly for example
Some on here like to say that his defensive zone faceoff wins don’t really matter
For the last few years,
that’s actually correct in the way that they don’t lead to offensive production
BUT
The reason isn’t actually that faceoffs don’t matter
It’s bc when ROR wins a faceoff in our own end, our defensemen have been so brutal with getting the puck out of the zone & up the ice

So in this example,
Sbroads is right
But now that we are putting together a much better defense that can skate & pass...
we will be getting the puck out of the zone much more efficiently than just dumping it out to Center ice & getting the puck shot right back in
This in turn, will lead to more offensive production 5v5

It’s just not as simple as looking at a stat and basing how good a player is off that
You’ve gotta look at all the factors that contribute to these stats

Florida is much bigger than the country Princess Gloria is from

I used to think he was our future number 1 but things change and honestly allowing him a reduced role may maximize his contributions going forward, I think a lot of players I see in trade proposals here would benefit with more internal competition and reduced ice time

You realize Jacksonville to Miami is farther than Buffalo to Washington D.C., right?

You've said many times, "he sucks, he gets beat all the time." And Jones has one good season and he's elite all of a sudden, but Sam has a good half season and he's just doing it for the money, he's not really that good, he got lucky, he only felt like playing half the season despite what the year end results say. Jones went a month without a point this year, he must've just not cared that month.

best thing for risto's career is dahlin
- homiedclown

Couldn’t agree more. I think Risto was the victim of overhyped expectations. I think he’s a solid #2. If he plays 2nd pair and gets better matchups he will be a beast for us. If he plays with a Dahlin I think that could possibly be the best defense pair in the East in short time.

I could see our defensive pairs eventually looking something like this:

Dahlin-Borgen
McCabe-Ristolainen
Guhle-Nelson

Matches up more defensively oriented guys with those who can skate up the ice & have offensive talent

Not sure how/if Pilut might figure in

This cuts both ways.

In my book, those critical of RoR are the ones looking deeper into the factors in play.

Except you're forgetting the first part, you said "Florida is getting killed with rain", Homie said "Fake news, it's sunny." then you said, "Bruh, I'm in Florida." like Florida is city-sized or something and that's what prompted us to say that Florida is big. Accuracy matters.

We were 31st because of Larsson.

Repeat it 100 times and it becomes true

- sbroads24

Trade all the good players. Sign more Larssons and Girgensons. Once they have more ice time, they'll be over .8p per game

Well it's Thursday so using Gerbe's logic it's an early Friday.

Kinda like 3rd breakfast.

I’m good with that.

Or just keep this core for one more year, play them a ton again, draft high again (because we will remain garbage) and then we will eventually have a real core
