Our first round draft picks have turned out horrible for a while now. That's a big part of the problem.
Beaulieu, Leblanc, Tinordi, McCarron...
Scherbak still has a shot but still has loads to go. - Scabeh

i also don't put Galchenyuk into that category when both Forsberg and Teraveinen seem to have passed him by. not that it was a bad pick but when your 3rd overall pick is a 50-point winger... |

Galchenyuk is still the 2nd most point producer from his draft year.
Forsberg seems to be the best of the bunch for sure but all things considered, with Yakupov and Murray being taken before him, Galchenyuk remains a good pick and a good player.
Best has yet to come for him. |

From what I've heard, he has slowed down on the partying during the season.
Hopefully he keeps focusing on hockey and everything will go well. |

That was my point. And the org made some poor decisions with the players they have picked. Mcdonagh was the worst, but Subban and Sergachev backfired as well.
Now they decided to give 10,5 millions a year to a 30 year old goalie. You have to look at those things at some point.
They also made the decision to try to make the playoffs year after year without being a true contender. So of course, you don't get Crosby, Ovie, Kane or Toews. - deadpoulet
They're very bad from the bottom up but their pro scouting has been the most atrocious part of this team for a very long time. |

I'm still shocked the guys that said Mark Streit and Ales Hemsky were a potential solution still have their jobs.

That was mostly the reporter speculating, wasn't there a story on how Lucic showed interest in playing in Montreal but couldn't pass up the opportunity to play with McDavid? He and Gallagher are buddies or something...? - obie
I know Gally is buddy with Marchand, they train together in the summer, but not sure for hunchback |

People say how much Price was a good pick at number 5, but Holtby was a 4th round pick.
And how come every guy we draft end up partying and on coke? |

Price has been and will probably still be a great player but using a top pick on a goalie is indeed stupid. |

Back then it was done more often (Fleury, Dipietro...). Now, yeah, it would be pretty stupid. |

You can trace back everything that happened in the last weeks of this guy. A huge love declaration commented by his GF, then another comment from him saying "Where the (frank) are you now??" than a new post calling bad names to all women. The sad thing? Pics of him and a baby. - Not_Yan

Next year will be a combo of 2 of that bunch
Ryan Clowe, Jagr, Enstrom, Hartnell, Bieska, Sharp, Rozsival..
I'm thinking Jagr is finally old enough and done to sign here |

Gotta raise a few questions when you acquire 3 players at the deadline for a playoff push and the next year one is retired, one is in the KHL and the last one is in the AHL. |
