Yeah, our depth scoring was attrocious and he was part of that.

I get what you're saying about him being a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself, but his production, along with the likes of Moulson, Nolan, Griffith, Josefson, Larsson was a major reason we were sunk 10 games into the season. Depth scoring matters

- jcragcrumple

Of course it matters. I've been a huge proponent of a heavy makeover of the bottom 6. But like you mentioned, he's part of a broken drafting system. We have low talented callups because of our inability to draft past round 2. Crisco himself is a very valuable part of Rochester and I'm glad he's there. I hope he stays there. I hope Larry GOES there. Botterill is smart enough to realize that. But the only remedy is continuous, successful drafting. We're seeing the fruits of the 2013, 14, 15 and 16 draft with Malone, Bailey, Baptiste, Olofsson, Borgen, Guhle, Pu and Asplund finally.. (hey look, only 1 top 6 center ) So hopefully the parade continues with Stephens, Nylander, Fitzgerald, Davidsson, UPL and Weissbach.

I'm in the same boat. I remember trying to convince myself that Mark Mancari had a future here. I own a Gerbe jersey (although that was a little more justified).

EDIT: I stood and cheered when we drafted Zach Kassian.

I'm always so hopeful and they always disappoint me.

- TerryPegula

Met Mancari back in college in Rochester. Guy was a total poopwhistle.

That would be a huge mistake if Botts did it. You don't trade from a position of weakness. It would further expose our defence moving forward. Only if

Gawd, no wonder we stunk so badly last season. By not having those 4 guys in the line-up along with Tennyson, we have to be 10 points better - even without drafting Dahlin or any other changes. Addition through subtraction.

I have no idea how a fouthline call up that should ideally play in the AHL, and had zero points in his 9 games in Buffalo is an issue at all.

Its not like the kid was playing 20 mins a night a on Jack Eichel's wing.

Fourth line checking roles players don't typically get a lot of points even in a full season on an NHL roster.

We have much, much bigger concerns than a 0 for Kyle.

All I want is to see Asplund, Nylander, Olofsson, O'Regan, Borgen, Pilut, etc. be the guys who get the callups.

I am so sick of the Criscuolos of the world. Again, no offense to him, but it's been a parade of career AHLers to Buffalo and I'm done with it.

- jcragcrumple

Asplund, Oloffson were not even signed last year, oreagan and borgen were brought in after the TDL I believe Pilut wasn't on the team and Nylander didn't deserve the call up at the time.
For a fourth line centre who would you have brought up from Rochester?

I'm saying this year, I want to see players who have a chance to be long-term NHL regulars get call-ups instead of the Criscuolo-types

People get mad at Crisco and Griffith because Bailey and Baptiste didn't play well enough to earn the spots.
