Yes, Dan continued to do some podcasts with Noel. Noel just disappeared and then showed up on Lighthouse or some other site. Not sure why Noel would burn his bridges, so to speak. Ses and I always told him his blogs/podcasts were "very fair"....
- JohnScammo

What did we ever did to make Noel treat us so disrespectfully?

I wish Noel and Dan well. They did a good job.

While I'd rather have a coach like Trotz or Daryl Sutter, if DJ Smith is the choice he sounds promising.
- ses111

Its a different game now.......I'd rather a young up comer coach than Sutter. The caps are a win away from the cup......i dont see them getting rid of Trotz.

I think Brisson and Lou discussed who's gonna make 91 happy behind the bench. Again, not a coincidence

No, but I imagine it's the usual suspects........Ses, GainesDM, Jimmy, and Pete. And, of course, Noel banned himself....permanently.

The Caps screwed themselves by not extending Trotz during the season. Now he's going to cost them A LOT more.

I guess the question for JT IS...

1. does he want to be the franchise pillar (aka: main guy) (ISLES)

or

2. just a piece to someone else's team. (TOR, TAMPA, SAN JOSE, etc)

I'd be surprised if it was #2, but this is the summer of surprises. I still think/feel it would be #1... whether the Isles or somewhere else with the same scenario.

- B.D. Gallof

If he leaves the Island.. it’s to be the #1 guy in Buffalo. “IF”

I haven’t got banned in a while, but it is kind of sad to see this going on in here. This used to be such a fun place

Well, by all accounts, he wanted to make sure that the Islanders were truly committed to building a winner and that the franchise is heading in the proper direction to win a Cup sooner than later.

They've now: Hired someone with long-time NHL experience to overhaul the entire culture of the organization from top to bottom and purged themselves of the NHL's longest-tenured front office punchline and a putrid coach that couldn't manage the stress.

If Tavares wasn't talking out his ass when he said that his #1 priority was to remain an Islander for his entire career, I'm not sure what else he expects to see. I'm sure that he's interested in who they'll hire to run the bench, but I'm not sure they can do a whole lot else to appease him, unless he's going to wait until August to sign because he wants to see what happens in free agency.

Maybe he just expected the same old same old on Long Island & then he had an excuse when he left... I mean with the history of this team, who expected Uncle Lou in, Snow and Weight out... at the start of the season when JT started singing this song of his?

Not really following. Are you saying you think he wanted to walk all along and was going to use the "same old Islanders" excuse but now...can't?

Yes.. exactly...

It was a sure bet that the off season would roll around, Snow would swing for the fences on a free agent, or a trade and it would never materialize... he would go “we are committed to making this team a Cup contender and building around #91”

I don't think I got banned. I did post some of BD's tweets that didn't age well, but I didn't attack him personally.

I think they have a private thing worked out between Brisson and Lou. Brissons other client (Stamkos) did this very same thing. Its ultimately whats best for his clients to see whats out there. Im sure part of changing this culture was to clean house with respect to coaching and management. Id also bet that Brisson after speaking with his client, has gone to Lou with who they feel would be the best fit coaching wise.

I hope so, because I don’t mind thinking about this team without JT on it... but not for nothing in return. Since a trade for his rights wouldn’t yield all that much. And there is no way anyone does a sign and trade... I’m hopein JT ends his career on the Islnd.

Tweets are forever. Especially when I never delete them.

Not one opinion held by the Isles hockey operations has stood. Except for one thing...

Lou liked the draft and system they have in place. Just cut off the weak spots: the heads. Now does he like it enough to carry it past this summer ... that's a whole other question.
