I forgot Schmidt.....point is...we could probably get a pick outta them
- feetontheair22

Doubtful

They're in the Cup with this defense
Why would they replace someone who’s been a good part of this unit,
for a guy who is always hurt & even when he is in the lineup he’s wildly inconsistent

Plus,
they’re supposedly going to revisit the trade for Karlsson they almost pulled off at the deadline

I think he's on a 2-way $650,000 1 year deal now?

Might be a rfa not ufa.

Fits Sabres needs at position , age and toughness.

Maybe get him and grubauer

- Boss34

I think he’s a good 4th liner
Just wouldn’t wanna overpay for him

I’m guessing he’d be willing to sign for about 1mil for a year with the Caps
I think they’d wanna keep him if he’s that cheap

If he was a UFA...
he’d probably get twice that,
if not more

at 500:1 odds of winning the cup, and the entire city betting at least a few bucks on the hometown team future's bet, the amount the casinos would lose if Vegas won would be well over a billion. I don't want Vegas to win, but I would love to see the people win.

Sure, the western conference future paid, but not a lot of people bet on those side bets. 90% of the money goes on all or nothing. And, I bet people in Vegas have been upping their bets throughout the season regardless the bet price. So, the money in the balance for a Vegas cup win is huge.

Their asses aren't hanging out as much as you think.

“This will be the biggest collective loss, futures-wise,” said Johnny Avello, executive director of race and sports at Wynn Las Vegas and a 33-year veteran of the sportsbook industry in Nevada. “It’s a good, solid six-figure loser at Wynn, and my best guess for the state of Nevada is $5 million. Remember, this team was anywhere from 200/1 to 500/1, and it’s a local team."

That's a lot of cake to eat, but it's peanuts relatively speaking. I saw the biggest liabilities a few weeks ago and ~$500K was the biggest.

Edit: When Leicester City won the Premier League British books "only" paid out $38M. $5M is a bad NFL weekend.

Murphy said the Las Vegas sportsbooks were hardly flooded with preseason betting on the Golden Knights. The Westgate Sportsbook opened with the Golden Knights at 300-1, but moved to 500-1 to get some action. Still, the book took only 13 bets, none for more than $20.

“The boost in ancillary revenue from the Knights’ playoff run has been so significant that the Stations Casinos have given away free futures bets on a Stanley Cup championship to all of their players club members. Granted, these bets are at 4-1, but they’ll pay out another seven figures on these should Vegas win.”

If he falls out of the 3rd round (where he’s projected to be taken)...
i think I’d scoop him with our 1st pick in Round 4

Adam Samuelsson
17yrs old
6’5
Weight somewhere between 210-240, there’s differing reports
Regardless, he’s HUGE
Skates well for his size
Ulf’s son
His brother Henrik was a late 1st round puck a couple years ago
Going to Boston College next year

Mabe if we get a 3rd for Lehner we could get him there
With his size & family pedigree,
I’d be surprised if he lasted to the 4th

With the exception of Theodore...and maaaayyybe McNabb....a healthy Bogo is an upgrade over every Vegas d-man

This Bogo guy sounds pretty good. Any chance we could get him to play for us?

Wow, Emmerick is just the worst. He clearly roots for one team or the other in every game he announces. the team this series being Vegas.

Wow! what you're saying is amazing. I would have figured after their hot start, the entire city would have been taking the future bets since the citizens can do it virtually anywhere at any time. I didn't really think Vegas to win the cup would have taken on too much money last summer given the odds and so few people being into hockey, but by December, January, I'd figure Vegas to win the cup/conference would have become a hot bet no matter what the bet price went down to.

Yeah, it's weird to think about, you'd think a ton of people plunking $20 down, that's nothing, like the articles said, just for the souvenir value. Once the odds started coming down to 150-1 is when the big bets started pouring in. And when the serious bettors started putting money on them. And I guess it just goes to show how few people give a poop about hockey.

Welp the fella that laid 75k on Vegas at 500-1 should’ve taken the $5 mil buyout he was offered.

Wow
Didn’t hear about that

I’d have taken the 5mil
But the chance at 37.5 would be damn tempting
