If Elliott had not gotten injured and the timing was better, he would've been fine.

The potential buyout candidates, which I view as Neuvirth, Weise, and Lehtera, don't present a cap issue that necessitates a buyout. At the same time, I don't feel like you'd get much, if anything, in a trade without including any other assets.

Neuvirth and Lehtera are both UFA's after next season and Weise has 2 years left. Also, you could save close to $1M in cap space by waiving and demoting any of them. So I'd ride their contracts out at this point.

As weird as it was, I thought Lehtera was one of the better guys against the Pens in round 1. Wonder if they consider him for 3C next year (I'd old yeller him, but hey).

They dont have anything that interests me enough to package with Anisimov for Simmonds (unless we are talking 8th overall which they aren't doing)

what about the 27th pick?

I am currently making my own team of all Russians (plus Mathew Barzal)

I would make a team full of Mathew Barzal's, but unfortunately there is only one

On a related note, Tainter Jainter throws out roughly 30% of would-be base-stealers and is slashing a cool .276/.321/.561 across 2.5 major league seasons. As a 25th round pick in the 2018 draft he is truly a wonderful story after winning ROY.

His Pirates are 16 games over .500 this year and are battling the Cubs for the division's top spot. Things are heating up.

Jainter is 86 overall with ~70 ratings in both power and contact from each side of the plate. He really is a tremendous all around player. To boot, Jainter became a member of the 20/20 club (26 HR, 20 SB), tacking on 87 RBI in his rookie year. He is on pace to better those numbers this year. Jainter, Bryce Harper, and Josh Bell make for a mean middle of the order for the Pirates, and they could really contend for a championship if they bolster their rotation.

underwhelming IMO. I don't think there is much "value" to Anisimov given his salary. It is the B Schenn trade with a better plug but only one 1st rounder...meh

Imposter! Tainter Jainer is an ex-Phillies pitcher. We need to find this imposter and string him up by the balls!

Edit: Catchers can't steal bases.

You know how it is in video games. Their "4th starter" by the rotation order is Trevor Williams (85 ovr), at 11-4. Across 120.1 innings, Williams is pitching to the tune of 2.77/1.16/102 k. He is their best performing pitcher. By the numbers, their 4th starter is Joe Musgrave, who across 107.2 innings owns a 4.10/1.33 at 82 ovr. He is 4-7.

I like it. Keep me updated on Kyle Crick. I still own his rights, but is currently looking like a bust. His development in your video game would be a good sign for my fantasy team.

John Jaso? Where'd you pull that out of.

Also, I hear that the Phillies are gearing up to make a run at Jainter. The centerpiece of the trade is Carlos Santana...the musician, not the poopty baseball player.

Tainter is due to hit UFA in 4 seasons. It will be quite the sweeps

EDIT: Besides being a contender, a major influence on Tainter is the potential sick ass color schemes of his would-be new team

He sure did. Put him in a tie for 86th overall. Then again, he had the same SB-CS record as Manny Machado, which sounds good.
