you pick 3rd... d-men available are top player...just make the right pick... we can find good winger in 2nd round...maybe not high skill like svechnikov or zadina but the ranking is not always right... if they pick a high skill LD or a Center 3rd overall, if he'S a top guy i don'T mind...sometime when you go by the book you get (frank)ed, ask Edmonton lolll

Take Zadina, then combine #67 a 2nd pick and a huge Poutine for a pick allowing to take either :

Hughes, Bouchard, Dobson.

- Xizord

Yup that would be ideal, only thing better would be to grab a 3rd pick and take Hayton

yes Hayton or Kotkaniemi can be as good for a team as zadina or Svechnikov...but if you want to play safe you pick by the book i guess... will see in a couple years lol

Maybe Chicago would do it. I think others teams would pass.

Islanders, Florida and Edmonton have all been linked to Pacioretty

I was looking at mock drafts and the defensemen named in here probably won't be there when the Oilers pick.

they made some really good pick in the past....i'm not worried at all... but every team make errors at draft every year... it will happen this year...you can't be perfect at drafting kids...impossible task !

There might still be one of Dobdon, Hughes, Bouchard or Boqvist left depending if Kotkaniemi (or a player nobody sees there) is picked in the top 9.

A trade involving Pacioretty to the Islander for that #11 pick would be pretty good.

Would the pick alone be enough?

Any standouts? You just gotta hope he does better than a Luke Schenn type.
- mgriffen

Scouts are pretty high on Quinn Hughes, USNTDP player (Habs really like those) who spent the last season at University of Michigan in the NCAA.

5'10'' defenseman who's got quick speed, great puck handling and general offensive abilities.

They already have Victor Mete in that format (not as talented, I know).

They should just go for best player available instead of filling a need anyway.

Brandon: In your opinion, where do Poehling and Evans sit in relation to the Habs future at the centre position. It seems with all the talk of the Habs need for a 1C/2C, these two prospects have been ignored in most of the articles I have seen.

Future 2C and 3C in my opinion. And by future I mean in 3-5 years, as that seems to be the time range of Habs prospects in general.

No one is excited about Valiev.

He's a long shot that might become a third pairing defenseman one day.
