Oh I hate # 67 with all my heart, but I'm just afraid Brady T doesn't bring enough offensively to be drafted at #3

Anyway, time will tell

yeah, i don't get it. He's been a great player for his last contract, his production vs his salary largely favours MTL.

Pacioretty is a great player.

Hell if he stays here for a price that makes sense, go for it.

Just don't lose him for nothing or overpay him.

He's the Habs main bargaining chip. I get why some people are wishing for a trade...

Well, they could also use the #3 pick for a trade, but I didn't suffered this abysmal poopty season for a few years of Ryan O'Reilly

Not this year, Satan.

i know the cap is going up around 80M, if they can get keep him around 6-6.5M that would be great, over 7M/yr long term is where I get worried. He doesn't bring much unless he scores.

Fully agree, I don't want a quick fix that will lead to more mid level mediocrity. Feels like making the playoffs is the new goal, not actually being a strong contender

unless they're rebuilding, which they wont do, no point trading Pacioretty. in any deal involving Pacioretty, he will be the best/most productive player in the deal. Montreal loses any deal they make involving him. that's a pretty hard and fast rule when it comes to trading high scoring forwards.

He's a surprisingly good penalty killing player, I must say.

...but then again that's not where you want your best goal scorer spend his energy during a game.

Zadina finished top 25 in two out of the 20 categories. As one scout noted to me…"No power."

ya cause Gretzky was clearly the most powerfull ( NO, not comparing the 2)

Hockey sense, instinct and a good shot does not come out in the combine

i would prefer a bigger hit over shorter term. $8 million/4-5 years.
