Tall, financially stable, scratch golfer, what can’t you do?

Playing Predator Ridge on Monday and touring vineyards tues/wed, any advice from the pro?

Wow good for you. My goal is to break 75 this year. I had it in the bag last round of last season and bogeyed 17 and 18 for a 77

I can feel that 75 coming this year.

Just play 9 i’m Sure you can break 70

I wouldn't call it ego. But I can see similar thing with Gilman where when they let him go they were like "blah blah too many voices in decisions" or whatever. They used the business speak for "he didn't agree with our super smart decision making so we fired him"
- Lindenis#1

yeah i've done that to myself a couple of times, but at some point you have to realise there's ways of expressing your difference of opinion without ruining other people's days

or just move on

lol he was largely responsible for putting together that Flames club that went to the final in 2004. Pretty sure he ain't that dumb brah...
- LordHumungous

I'd say he's a mix of brilliant and stupid with nothing in between. Either a big hit or extreme miss.
but his words are at least interesting input. Not sure he'll ever make GM again though ....unless Ottawa decides to step up from idiocy.

its like the people who want to give Nonis credit for the 2011 team or Murray credit for what Burke did in Anaheim.

Yes they were there before and had some imprint on the team, but they werne't the one with the balls or ability to get it over the top and take it to the next level. It isn't exactly Bowman taking over the 2010(?) Hawks team.

- Lindenis#1

nonis is good at only 1 thing, goaltenders. everything else is a tire fire.

Traded for loungo and drafted schneider. It was calm for years after. After burke in TO he calmed the goalie situation again for years. Great with goalies, nothing else

If only burke let nonis pick the goalies in Van employed days perhaps we'd have a cup??

I’m not a huge fan of Button or Pronmsn but it depends on career choice. I’ve heard Ferraro has been offered at least one scouting job but chose not to accept it.
- Nucker101

Ferraro has a good gig. I wouldn’t either.

Bring lots of balls?

There's three things I always worked on because they were important to me, being a good husband, father & son, being good at my job, and, staying active through golf. My hand eye coordination from hockey seems to have stayed with me so I work at the game of golf as I enjoy being a little competitive at it.

I'm usually a high 70's to low 80's golfer, but every once and awhile things go your way a some putts fall in. Five birdies yesterday with twelve pars and a double, just my day.

I'm poopty at everything else, including being a virtual GM of a hockey team

Well....he deserves it because he is dumb!

Obviously he's not an idiot, he just comes off like one and his GM skills his first few years were clearly lacking imo.

He has done somethings that were definitely questionable.
I like to see any GM get at least 6 years, as I believe between years 4-6, you will see the direction in which that GM is taking that team.
These next 2 seasons will be the real judging point for me.

a couple more seasons for JB and if he can't get into the playoffs, he is gone and we will see one or two gm's come and go until we get in.

I'm not sure if this is realistic, but it often seems like gm's build up/stock teams and another comes in and makes moves to see who stays and goes.

Benning is setting the foundation in two ways, 1) because of his teams poor finishes he's had good draft positions 2) because he drafted Boeser and hopefully Pettersson. Both will become stars (hopefully Boeser can follow-up his rookie year) in the league I'm hoping!

He's hurt the franchise, or slowed progress, because he hasn't acquired enough draft picks.

What do you think it would take too get Flyers puck at 19? Would Tanev do it?

I don't really consider MacDonald Gudas Manning or Oduya as good D.
They have some nice young D, but their veterans are average.
Tanev would help stabilize that corps, as they were exposed badly in the playoffs. IMO.

That too.
It appeared to me though that those 4 I mentioned, tend to get caught out of position too much, had a hard time keeping up with the puck movement, aren't very quick on their feet, and lacked somewhat in the hockey sense department.

No, 1st rounder. So they are shooting for a division title? ELC are awesome. Especially for high 1st round picks.

Faulk can't help Hanifin, I don't know if Tanev is better then Faulk or Tanev can stay healthy enough. This team doesn't need 3rd, 4th round picks. They need 1st round picks.

If the price is Kapanen for Hanifin. Kapanen was the 22nd pick.

- manvanfan

We're not trading Hanifin for Kapanen.

And Faulk is worse defensively than Hanifin.
