Guddy was older at the time of the deal ...we pretty much knew what he was although some in here were hopeful he would develop further

Hanifan is much younger and still can develop into a top pairing guy ...he had more points last year than EG first 3 years

When we got Guddy he was a capable #4 shutdown guy who needed a good partner(like Edler) to really be effective. He did look good with Edler and Edler looked better with him. We don't have a partner for OJ if we get NH and Guddy plays with edler, but that is ok, he will develop just fine in AHL.

MDZ-Stetcher is still better than last years D. Get a real 2c to play with EP and we have a bubble team that likely finishes between 10-15 next season. I am iffy on trading 7oa for NH though.

My guess is because the scouts tell him he's the real deal, better than the guys that will be there at 7. I mean we are just speculating, could be something completely different than 7. he's 21, well within the game plan of rebuilding. Maybe Aho and Tevo love Granlund?

Trading for Gudbrandson at the time made sense. We needed toughness, we needed size , we needed a NHL young Dman (24 yrs old)

Vantel was a front runner after the Sutter/Gudbranson deals but after the Petersson/Eriksson moves, he’s off the list.
