Does anyone here want kovelchuk? Hes been mentioned as a possibility with the isles because of lou but hes 35. He still has a world class shot and barzal could feed him all day but not sure on him. Would move bailey to the third line where he is better suited so they would have more depth I suppose - Upstate_isles
Not really.. .I am guessing the contract and years will be awful. He will be Ladd Jr. I would rather see Bellow, ho Sang, etc. fighting for spots than another washed up Veteran who stinks getting top line minutes. |

The Islanders couldn't afford to give out a bad contract even if they wanted to. They currently have, according to CapFriendly, the most cap space in the league (or will July 1st, if someone wants to nitpick) but they only have 13 players under contract. As of now we have 8 forwards, 4 defensemen, and 1 goalie signed to deals. |

I'd keep lee although he will demand a big raise and isnt getting faster but that's the beauty of lou je puts a value on a guy an that's it - Upstate_isles
I still think trading Lee is probably the right thing to do especially for a Dman or goalie. |

When word got around the Islanders players last week that Lou Lamoriello was taking over the team, the most important issue was discussed and, in at least one case, addressed.
“I went out and got a haircut and a shave that day,” Cal Clutterbuck told The Athletic. “Just to be safe.”

Now let's hope he goes out and trades himself while he's at it |

I think even Garth got a shave? Funny thing for him to do if he were still in charge. |

Fenton and Fitzgerald may turn out to be fine Gm's, but they do not have the instant respect Lou brings. |

He could jump off the Meadowbrook bridge with some cement shoes and make sure he ties cizikas, Ladd, Mayfield, and Pelech to his body. That would be awesome. |

Honestly, I’d like to see them add Mark Hunter in July. Let Snow take the western Canada scouting duties, by himself. Actually i take that back......let him bring the top player development coach Eric Cainrs. |

Garth is as much of a GM to this team as the Islander beat writers have been to this team. Both will do as they’re told. |

Is your contention that Garth will be overseeing the roster next year etc? Making trades or picks or signings ? |

Its not just a hockey expert, but a guy who spent twelve years as owner, vice-president, and general manager of the London Knights (Tavares old team). The drafting on the island has been sub par, with the exceptions of cant miss Tavares, and getting lucky with Barzal. They need deeper roots in juniors to stop with these wasted picks of Reinhardt, Strome, Dal Colle... |

Thanks! I heard that recently. Still think David would have interest if Lou calls. |
