It's only been 4 days, but it feels way longer. I can understand them not wanting to start it Saturday or Sunday of Memorial Day weekend, those are travel and party days for the most part, plus the Indy 500 and to a much lesser extent the Monaco GP, so ratings would probably be very bad.

I'm not saying Tavares wouldn't work here it's just as of now we need to make the correct trades and signings. Trades just to make trades is going to get us no place, we are in a very good position to start moving forward and management knows it.

Carolina just had. Play meaningful games into March and just fall short. But ask me again in 2 months once free agency is over.

Ryan O'Reilly and San Jose's 2019 1st round pick should be more than enough to start conversations to pry a defenseman away from Carolina.
