There are no platforms. Just a bunch of yahoo careerists who's only ambition is to win and retain power.
This is what happens when the majority of people stop participating in democracy and fail to hold 'their' representatives accountable.
We have become a dictatorship of idiots, and democracy has become a failed concept.

This is crazy. I was just trying to read up comparisons about the different platforms for the parties the other day and I kept encountering things like, "Ford has not expressly stated his plan for this, but..." that just made me wonder if even he knows what his plans are.
I don't like the idea of the Liberals and Wynne staying in power and their deficit projections worry me, but I don't trust Ford either as I have no (frank)ing clue what he even plans on doing. After reading up on the platforms it seems to me NDP might be the smart choice. |

Reporter: Mr. Ford what are you plans if you get elected?
Ford: I really haven't thought that far ahead.
Reporter: but it's only like 2 weeks away.
Ford: we're in May. June is a month away still. |

I think if the Leafs are seriously interested in Hanifin they'd probably have to offer Nylander +.
I like Nylander and would be happy if they'd take a lessor player, but don't know if anyone else (other than untouchables like Matthews, Marner, Rielly) would be enough to get it done. Whether people think Hanifin is worth losing Nylander and his luscious hair.... I dunno. Depends just how good Hanifin is expected to become I guess (and the quality of his hair).
At least we do in fact have a plethora of skilled young wingers, so even losing a high end one isn't the end of the world if it seriously upgrades our defense. Also if we did actually trade Willy, would that suggest we could keep JVR? |

It's kind of funny when you consider that even Trump had supposed plans on what to do when he was elected. They might not have been great plans, but at least he had something.
Ford seems to have a very nebulous idea of what he even intends to do other than auditing the Liberals spending habits and making beer great again. |

I'm voting NDP because Libs are too far back. Can't afford to split that vote, and give the idiot the win that way. Kind of poopty that the left has two parties splitting the vote, and the right only has one.
I wonder if we had a two party system, or another right wing party, if the right would ever win anything. |

If Carolina does have that firesale why do they need to part with Nylander ? - PatC80
Each year we hear about supposed firesales and teams blowing up and we all dream about landing potential stars for peanuts and it never happens. Even Carolina's management isn't going to give away a player of Hanifin's caliber for nothing.
Maybe it won't require Nylander, but it's likely going to be a hefty price. Do you think they're going to be happy with Kapanen or Johnson +, instead of Willy? Lets be honest, Nylander has done a lot more to establish himself in the NHL than those guys, so he's likely got a lot more value right now.
I look at the team and don't see who else we could trade that Carolina would want, that seems to be somewhat comparable value for a potential top pairing dman other than Willy. And we'd still probably need to add.
Maybe we could get Hanifin or someone else similar for some other deal, and maybe their management group will get swindled somehow, but I'm trying to suggest a realistic deal here. |

Baby was stirring, so i went to give her her pacifier. She looked over at a couple of drawers that were partially open, and they closed.
Does anyone know how to monetize a child's telekinetic abilities? |

Are you thinking X-men mutant super powers or possession? Has she fallen into any radioactive waste recently? If she has glowing red eyes you might have a problem.

Exactly.
That would be a wonderful trade for us, and who knows, it could actually happen. But it does seem unlikely. I don't like suggesting trades with the preface that the other GM has to be on crack (or be of comparable intelligence to Chiarelli) when making their decision.
Edit: Unless we're trading with Edmonton. Offer whatever ridiculous proposal you feel like. I won't judge. |

I may have accidentally bathed her in nuclear waste, and I may have made certain deals with certain goat-hoofed entities.
That's not the question though.

Kid's gonna be OK there.
Interestingly enough, Hanifin's best comparable on the Leafs might be Dermott:
https://public.tableau.co...74KPFP?:display_count=yes
Both did very well, in very sheltered roles.
If Noah was a righty, I'd be inclined to move Nylander for him. But as it stands, we've got Rielly and Dermott as the future on the left. We need more on the right.
I'd be more interested in Pesce, but still, not at the price of Nylander. |
