That's the joke. Phil Kessler.

I just read up on the actual Kesler's injury. That's pretty rough stuff, he got the surgery but still may need a year out on rehab

Kesler underwent hip surgery last summer in an attempt to solve a chronic issue, but Friedman now reports that he’ll undergo “aggressive rehab and treatment” this time around to try and get back on the ice. There is a chance that he sits out the entire season and tries to return in 2019-20, when he’ll be 35 years old. He still has four years on his contract that carries a $6.88MM cap hit, meaning it’s unlikely he’ll retire either way. But now there is a chance that he could spend all of next season on LTIR should the rehab not work as hoped.

Yeah, I remember he had that thing last year. Didn't know he was still going through it. That sucks.

Kinda like Andrew Luck, who has STILL yet to throw a pass.

It's probably another scenario where they'll have to attach a high end young player to a deal involving kesler to try and move on from the deal. Like Gardiner/Lupul, but worse

They're not a big money team, not sure a buyout is the way to go.

Actually the total cap hit for 2 years would be less than it is for this year alone if they kept him.

Edit: Actually since he'd probably be buried it'd be about the same. No big deal.

- Wetbandit1

Yeah he would be buried. So we waste about 400k. But the irritating part is we waste 667k in the 2019/2020 season when i went them going all out to do what they can to improve the team.

He has a 5 million hit with an actual cash payout of 3 million, there has to be a way for Arizona to take that contract. They love those types of deals.

They wouldnt want bogo. His hit is 5.14, and he makes more than that per year.

Plus i wouldnt trade a first to dump two expiring contracts, and another that only has two years left.

Our worst contract is Okposo. They rest we can keep until they expire

Watch his eyes during the interviews, they get closer together as the season drags on. By March he’s fully cross eyed, it’s wicked.

Holy poop, any F1 fans, Ricciardo smashed the lap record at Monaco. Last year the record was set at 1:12.178. He beat that in practice yesterday with a 1:11.841, and then today obliterated that with a 1:10.810!

Yeah bad move. The sabres should be applying pressure to him. Get ready to ride the bus in roch if you don't retire.

I'm still 70% sure he retires after collecting his signing bonus

There has to be some kind of handshake deal if they paid him 5Mil to play for LA's minor league team last year.
Sounds like they were honest with him and he asked to get back to SoCal where he wanted to settle down.
