Do you really want Stecher Pouliot Gudbrandson and Biega as your RHD
- VANTEL

Will it matter at the end of the year if we finish 8th last or if we finish 2nd or 3rd last? Personally I'd rather finishing at the bottom again for the clubs future.

I am not knocking Stecher . I am pointing out that is a pretty weak RH side overall.
The first guy I would look to move and upgrade is Gudbrandson.

Stecher is the last guy I would look to move

Fair enough. IMO if Stech is put on PP1 hes a 30-40 point dman who kills penalties. But i agree Gudbranson should go. Hoping its in a package with Buffalo for Reinhart.

I don't believe that for a second, losing sucks but it hasn't affected Horvat or Boeser and it didn't effect great players like Sakic when they lost for five straight years in Quebec before they got good and won Cups.

It effected a lot of the Oilers and the Leafs .

I think getting our asses kicked night after night would take it's toll

The idea is to improve year to year , then you can start to see daylight.

Moving up to 8-12 this year would be a huge step for Bo . It is finally his team not the Sedins team now.

Sorry just disagree, yes losing sucks but as I said no one other than Bo Horvat has been around long enough to complain about the losing, and he's a strong character guy.

The Leafs only finished bottom five for two years so I don't know who was complaining but they should be told the STFU and play!

Well I disagree with you . I think the Canucks are finally at a stage where they should look at improving year to year and not gutting it down to have a fire sale. Upgrade a few players at a time.

Yes, in his first season he showed he has offensive instincts. Second season stats show he was actually one of the best penalty killers in the league, took him awhile to earn Greens trust, but im willing to bet Stech breaks out this year.

Stecher is one of the best pk in the league ? Really ?

They don’t have the personnel to be better yet, that’s what I’m saying. When they do, sure, but they’ve got way too many holes yet to fill.

I don’t think the Canucks will be where you think they are until guys like OJ, EP, TD, KL, AD etc are regulars on the team ....

Holes are being filled. Pettersson Dahlen Boeser OJ Demko . You just need to give them time and protect them a little.

Come on they haven’t filled any holes, they have potential and that’s it.

As of right now they have two top six forwards under the age of 25, how is it time to take the next step. You’re jumping the gun.

We will find out right? We finished 6 th last year with an older slower team. I think giving more minutes and better positional starts could improve some of these players.

I see our lineup finishing 8-10 from the bottom and I am okay with that. That is an improvement.

Two second rounders and a prospect for Tanev is a steal, I'm running with that offer. He's gotta trade him at the draft imo, he's always stuck trying to be competitive and failing but he keeps trying. When will he add picks not subtract? When will he have his eye on the future of the club?

Finishing near the bottom doesn't mean he's got his eye on the future, it just means he's sucked at the present despite his attempts to be good. He needs to stop worrying about now and acquire more draft picks.

- LeftCoaster

Goldy and Dolly for Hansen and burrows is better then the 2 thirds that he would have got as picks. Same with lipstick and what's his name for scraps and old scraps. Have patience with vantel, he's building up the prospect pool and we'll be competitive before you know it.

I think lefty is more on point here ....you have pieces to be excited about ...but There’s no for sure that they are all going to reach their full potential ...keep adding assets until you start to see your future core playing and producing as Canucks

Moving to an English speaking city helped offset all that losing. The nords lost for years plus living amongst the French created a double negative which resulted in a positive when they moved.

I was surprised they even made this one, there'd be much better star wars stories to make with yoda being the most needed and likely best story

I am using last years team . Hutton out OJ in . Neilssen out Demko in . Henrik out EP in . There should not be that big of a falloff seeing those players did not have wonderful years.

OJ is a slick D that will fill a hole.
Guds is locked up and fills that big D hole.
Demko will cock block and keep the opposition from scoring.
Peterson, boeser and bo will score from the front, bodqvist will pound it from the rear with way more force then a little D gets credit for.

Lol - two seconds is not a steal! Benning would be run out of town if he made that trade. Move him at the tdl after he plays w OJ for 2/3rds of a season
