I'll be happy as long as one team in the top 9 wants a center and takes Kotkaniemi, leaving us with whoever is left over from Boqvist, Dobson, Wahlstrom or Tkachuk. I think the top 3 are set, and Hughes and Bouchard go in the top 6.
- Beergu

Really? I don't see any reason why Bouchard wouldn't slip, that's who I have you guys taking actually.

I just thought it was odd Benning even mentioned the center position at 7.

Bouchard won't go in the top 6. Arizona Detroit Vancouver won't take him

I'd be fine with that too, just thought that he would be heading Detroit's way for some reason. RHD or winger.

Friedmans latest 31 thoughts. Ryan Kesler might not play next year. And Vancouver is a stealth team for Noah Hanifin

If we made a move for Hanifin and drafted Dobson our blue line would immediately look so much better

I dont think they could get Hanifin while keeping the 7th pick.

Kane said this morning that SJ 'allows him to be the man he wants to be'...whatever that means lol

Yeah...I think Kassian said the same thing. Maybe they won't toss his clothes in the shower next time he wants to show off his thug-life.

I would have to agree with that. I don't know what Van could give up.

Makes a guy wonder if Benning said today hes talking to teams for a center, if at the same time he targets hanifin he is asking about Lindholm.

What would the price for Lindholm be? Does Van really need more Swedes?

No kidding. The Swedes have good skill but I think we could use some more Canadians.

Top players/prospects are 1 Canadian, 1 Swede, 1 Finn, and 2 Americans...

Who cares?

I’d take 23 Mongolians if it meant bringing a cup to Vancouver

That is true. I think the natural draw to locals is that people assume have the deepest understanding of what it would mean for their city/province/country if they won

Disagree.

To me it’s all about the actual player. Burrows was a way bigger fan fav than Hamhuis was or Virtanen will likely ever be. No one really cared for Garrison either.

Canuck fans wanted Burrows to do well even after he got traded.

Why the frenzy over Kane then? If he wasn't from Van nobody would've been campaigning for JB to sign him this summer.

Not a chance. It would be 7th plus one of our better prospects at least. Larsen got Hall.

That said, 7th (if the plan was to draft a D anyways) + goldy id be in. Noah only 21 and fills a MASSIVE need.

Open question to anyone with an opinion:

My gf and I are planning a trip to Europe in the fall. Probably somewhere in the 6-10 week range and I'd appreciate any suggestions on things to see or do. We're hoping to hit maybe between 5-8 countries including England, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands.

We don't have a super low budget, but as recent students we also don't have money to pay out the nose. Any insights on travelling in that part of the world would be much appreciated!

Not sure what your exact dates are but if you're into cultural festivals and can handle large crowds, Barcelona for the La Merce festival and Munich for Oktoberfest are two of the most amazing events I've been to. La Merce is usually around the middle of September, Oktober fest is the last week of September.

The Correfoc or "Fire Run" for La Merce is kind of crazy, but a ton of fun. Get right in the middle of it, and dance among the fireworks. But wear clothes you're ok with having little holes burned into them.

Oktoberfest is a lot of fun – those steins Ever make it to La Tomatina? One of the most enjoyable and least enjoyable experiences I have ever had: a town full of tomatoes to throw at people in 33 degree heat.
