In most of Europe the weather will be similar in the fall.

Spain, Portugal, Southern France and round the Mediterranean would be your best bet for weather.

For Architecture, i'd say UK, France, Italy and Southern Europe would be your best best. Even Belgium for architecture but not much else.

It's really easy to get around though. Really easy. Jump on a plane, train or bus and you're only a few hours from moving on to the next country.

Yeah I'm looking forward to the low travel times for sure

What team? I only know about a handful of esports teams
- NorthNuck

Oh hell, I don't know. A group of guys were just talking about their kids and he mentioned that his were driving him nuts with the gaming. You know, the whole "they'll never amount to anything" rant. Little did he know.

He said they all live in one big house in Paulo Alto I think. If I see him again I'll be sure to ask what team or sponsors they are with.

My gf is an interior designer and is way into architecture so that's gonna drive some of our choices. She wanted to do Greece but I was told by a guy from there that the weather is miserable in the fall.
- NorthNuck

Greece is just miserable period.

What kind of architecture is she into? You don't have to go far to see great classical and/or modern architecture. Lots of great locations in North and South America that will be much cheaper to visit than Europe. Therefor you'd get to see more in the long run.

Open question to anyone with an opinion:

My gf and I are planning a trip to Europe in the fall. Probably somewhere in the 6-10 week range and I'd appreciate any suggestions on things to see or do. We're hoping to hit maybe between 5-8 countries including England, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands.

We don't have a super low budget, but as recent students we also don't have money to pay out the nose. Any insights on travelling in that part of the world would be much appreciated!

If you will be travelling by car, then book Airbnb/VRBO/HomeAway places in small towns outside of the major centres. In Italy we stayed in Cerea (near Verona), just outside of San Gimignano in Tuscany. In France we didn’t stay right in Paris, but stayed in small villages in Champagne, Burgundy and Loire. A small economy rental car in France was very reasonable. If you are going Tom take trains you will need to stick to larger cities.

If you are driving: 1) don’t speed - in France you will get a ticket going only a few KMs over the limit. 2) watch where you park - in Italy there were parts of the city where only locals are allowed. In both cases I got a fine in the mail several months later. In England they drive on the wrong side of the road.

Have fun!

It's a funny time to mention it, just last night 3 buddies and I played in the 1st round of an open esports tourney. Played against some pros for the first time, it was pretty intense. The guys who play as a career have to put in the same if not more hours than pro athletes at working on their skill

I hadn't really thought about renting cars, we may or may not depending on our route. Most likely though I don't expect to want to drive. Thanks for the advice though

The guy told me to watch some Netflix doc that shows the lifestyle. The competition is insane so the pressure to keep your position on the team takes its toll.

Well it's more that we were planning on going to Europe in the first place and it's more of a "since we're going, I'd like to see X" kinda thing.

I honestly couldn't tell you exactly what kind of stuff she wants to see I assume just the really old stuff

I think we have a young player on this team who can help him put on weight.

I'm curious to see what happens to the community over the next few years, it's interesting that the guys who are the best of the best quite often don't play on the pro circuit, as they can make much more money and be on the road much less if they stream on Twitch. Only thing is to be successful at that you have to have personality which many of the kids who are really skilled(lots of Koreans) do not

Gotcha.

Then I would suggest the same route as Vintage. Can't go wrong with the Spain, France, Italy Mediterranean circuit. Can be hell in summer but fall should be perfect after the kids go back to school. Makes a huge difference.

Good to know, I know some people note the weather in the fall as being rainy and cold but we spent the last 4 years living on Van Island so I don't think it'll bother us really
