It is a very well kept secret why Kessel gets no respect. The fact is he puts catsup on his hot dogs. There, it’s out!

I think if he cuts back on his daily hot dog quota, thus reducing the waist line, then keep him. Just kidding. I always liked the guy and am glad he got a couple of cups under his belt. Too much was expected from his days in TO. Always been a feel good story to see him bounce back from cancer and resume his career. Always has that smile on his face when interviewed. But at the same time I'm glad we traded him. It was long overdue to change the complexion of the team. Future looks bright.

With the exception of Sidney Crosby, and to a lesser extent Evgeni Malkin, the Penguins should always think about the idea of trading/replacing any player on the roster. But that doesn't mean they should actively pursue all of them, simply to consider them.

To a certain degree. Depending on the state of the team & how competitive it is. This team is a proven winner, that probably only requires a tweak. Start turning players over & it may have a negative affect. I'm sure JR is doing exactly what you suggest & the media who don't like Philbo are doing a lot more. They have to 'sell papers' So to speak. I think Brassard is probably more likely to go than Philbo.

What kind of restaurant? Hot dogs? Yeah I can see that. Sushi? Not so much.

Is that where people dress up in their favorite animal costume and screw each other? I think they have a convention in Pittsburgh every year?

I am sure Rutherford has thrown Kessel's name out there to be traded. How serious he is, is anyone's guess.

His salary drops this year and then again in two years. So his cap hit is higher than his salary which would be attractive to 'budget' teams.

I guess these Kessel rumors are going to supplant the "Malkin getting traded so he can be the man" rumors.

Trading Kessel would be as asinine as you could get.

I personally think there's a greater likelihood Letang gets moved than Kessel.

Injury history combined with his salary, I don't see many takers for Letang. Pens don't have anybody else on the roster who is close to being a true #1. I think it's crazy to think about trading him. I think he returns to form next season...(mostly return to form).

100% Bubba. Back bigger & better. Also has a year of changing his game so it should be easier for him.

I'm not saying they would/should. I was just making a contrast to how unlikely I think it is Kessel gets moved. Personally, I wouldn't move Letang unless a proper replacement was brought in.

Regardless, I think moving Kessel is just insane.

TIOPS is jumping on this Kessel malarky stating AZ, CHI and NSH have strong interest in Kessel.

Kessel is easier to replace than Letang. Wings are in a little more in abundance than Defense.

I give Letang two more years as a top pairing d-man. He can probably play 7-10 more years as a middle pairing. At that point you will need to evaluate his salary compared to his value.

Again, I think my point is being missed.

I'm just trying to point out how unlikely it is I believe Kessel will be traded.

Pens just have to bank on Letang getting to actually train this summer helps get him back to form. Look how much better Maatta was for finally having a healthy off-season. Letang plays massive minutes and wasn't in his best shape which I think led to a spike in mental errors.

Is he going to score 92 points next season? Maybe someone else will score 95.
