What kind of restaurant? Hot dogs? Yeah I can see that. Sushi? Not so much. |

Didn't Kessel play banged up all season long?
Man, The man was 2nd in Goals, 2nd in assist, 2nd in points, played in all 82 games for Pittsburgh and he get to respect. He's the Rodney Dangerfield of the NHL.
Anyone spare a hot dog. I got the munchies now.

In a serious thought I just read Vegas blog. Pretty much what I’ve always thought about possession stats. A team can fire cream puffs in the ozone all game. Getting one good scoring chance where Reaves is screening the net>10 minutes of perimeter play in the o zone. |

Just so you know shot location is one of the most valued things in the analytics community. |

Is that where people dress up in their favorite animal costume and screw each other? I think they have a convention in Pittsburgh every year? |

Not at UFA values. 7 years 49 on kane I have no interest in. He's only had a few years worth that price and he seems like the kinda guy who gets paid and then falls off a cliff.
I'd be scared to do anything more than 3 years 18 on kane. |

People are still stuck in the thought that Corsi is the only stat that exists in the analytics community. |

Most hated player who had 9 points in 12 playoff games in a single postseason.
Apparently, .75 points a game in a playoff run is super bad or something.
Like, his "worst" here was .75 points per game in the playoffs, on a team where ONLY the top line and powerplay scored for an entire series. Lighten up people. |

I'm a big supporter of trading Phil. Retain 1.2 of his salary and we will give you back Kapanen, an ahl scrub d-man like Marincin, and this year's first. Ship him back to Toronto where he can set the hockey world in Canada back on fire and still get dumped on in every blog on the internet. |

Hmmm... how about you guys take back Hunwick, give us Jake Gardiner at half retained (cause you love eating money for us) and we will still take the first. |

From last blog:
Rickard Rakell + Josh Manson (or Brandon Montour)
for
Phil Kessel + Matt Hunwick (or Conor Sheary)
- Barnaby36
That's an easy yes for me. Maybe it's just me because I'm a big fan of both players, but seems like the Ducks wouldn't do this.
Pens get a left winger, on a great contract, who is younger, speedy, and a 30 goal scorer. And we get a talented, hard nosed RH Dman...anddd we dump some deadweight salary. That sure checks all the boxes. I don't want to trade Phil but that'd be the kind of deal I would drive him to the airport.
@YouMeAndDupuis9
I wouldn't want to trade Kessel either but there was a reason I posted this kind of trade. This is a deal I'd be willing to entertain.
Perry/Getzlaf/Kesler are all above 30 and they are in a win now mode. Kessel would be a great fit there + getting Sheary or Hunwick. Rackell and Manson would be all we'd be looking for for a reasonable cap hit.
Anyway, just an idea. I liked this one. |

With the exception of Sidney Crosby, and to a lesser extent Evgeni Malkin, the Penguins should always think about the idea of trading/replacing any player on the roster. But that doesn't mean they should actively pursue all of them, simply to consider them. - jmatchett383
Absolutely. Smart business. |
