It's funny that Housley isn't playing coy at all with who the Sabres are gonna pick

"It came down to the last two teams there and when they flipped over the Buffalo Sabres logo, I was jumping up and down and we were high-fiving in our family room," Housley said. "I thought, 'This is finally a great breakthrough for this organization.' What a cornerstone for us to get Rasmus Dahlin. It really gives us hope. All of the things that have happened in the past, this is one bright spot to look forward to heading into the draft that can change a franchise."

lol

Even Botts wasn't all that coy. said something to the tune of "well we want the other players to still show up so.."

Yeah, lol, I think he kind of realized it mid-stream:

I didn't know if it was a sixth sense, but I knew it was our time," he said. "After the previous drafts, we've got some tremendous players, but this was a very unique opportunity. The way the game is played now, the way the game is going, a player like Rasmus Dahlin can really change a franchise.

Oh I don't think there's no chance Im just not prepared to say they're there with some sort of certainty.

Half of the teams in our conference make the playoffs.

Jbotts and pegulas are ready to build a winner immediately.

No more bs draft maneuvering. It's on with the Bill's too.

Pegulas bought a house to be more involved. In a good way

Because this method is proven to be the best approach to building a team. I mean even if they were, how many moves can they realistically make this summer

Yea, can he fit Sully in his suitcase?
- macman9

Honestly, if I had to choose, it would be Harrington.

Bucky Gleason, while still annoying, was less so since he moved into his new columnist role (i.e. no longer on the Sabres beat). Harrington is insufferable. Sullivan just tries to write like a big time columnist, but falls short.

That'd be weird, you'd opt out of the current CBA but still play a year?

Yeah, he's the most miserable, but Bucky was - god it feels good to say was - a horrible mixture of smug and pessimistic. He loved to twist the knife

I've never read a single article they've wrote but I'll just go ahead and say they are all terrible.

The formula for Pittsburgh was drafting high 5 times in a row.

Terry was a penguins fan. As we know his dog is named Sydney.

Weather it works in the end or not, they have painfully gone thru the 5 high draft pick process.

Risto Eichel sam nylander mitts dahlin

That's 6 good to great players. Seriously look again at that list. It's a dream team for Sabres fans.

Add to that ror, okposo, erod, McCabe, guhle , Nelson, scandella.

That's 13 nhl players. We need a good goalie and a few more nhl players and we are going to be dangerous

Vogl was good. He just wrote what actually was happening.

It was all down hill from the tank for Harrington, Sully and Bucky.

Once they adopted an anti-tank stance, they really became unreadable. Every column had to be a shot at the tank or Personally against the Pegulas.

I don't think Bucky will be getting a job at PSE

Didn't some clown say somewhere that the Sabres might draft somebody else or trade the pick?

yeah i obviously googled it when i came up with that im just confused why that's the case.

Last time they opted out that year was the shortened year. How are they going to opt out in september of 2019 and just play the season?

- Sabresfan-365

Has their been a year where the team that holds first overall hasn't been "rumored" to move the pick?

Wasn't this some guy on a board that really liked Wahlstrom or Hughes? Usually an analyst will throw the idea out there, probably more to generate interest than honestly believing it. I haven't heard anyone serious even try this time around.

I think alot of these draft gurus get paid by agents to talk up certain players.
