Um, can you read that and tell me where I said he has no passion?
I could give two (frank)s about his passion. Kovi cares most about Kovi. Always has.
I would take a roster of 22 Dominic Moore's over having 1 Kovi. That's me. |

From everything I’ve heard about David Quinn, no one has a negative word to say about him. He’s a teaching coach who pushes players, is hard on them, but approachable and terrific with younger players. This is why the Rangers wanted him. He’s ideal for their plan. And he wins. |

I'm not happy Kovi left but he was a great player and teammate. He killed penalties, stuck up for his teammates and fought occasionally. Worked on his defense when we had him, and of course produced offensively.
Depending on how you guys intend to rebuilding will determine if he makes sense to sign; but as a player he's the goods. I'd take him on my team anytime. |

Everyone has seem to have forgotten that there is another important Game 7 "for the Rangers" tonight, despite them not being on the ice for it at all.
Will Tampa advance on to meet Vegas in the Finals, to be within just 4 games of another Cup win, and turnover their 1st Round pick in 2019, instead of that 2nd Rounder in part obtained in their deadline acquisition from the Rangers of McDonagh and Miller?
Without being a betting man, I say YES, after they were shocked at the Caps relentless sustained, hard and physical play in that Caps Game 6 win on Monday night. Cooper will have one or two line adjustments made, to get the Bolts offensive zone penetration back to norm, and pressure Holtby with real tough shots this time around, and in great abundance. One crack in Holtby's game could spell doom for the Caps. |

As I mentioned on Jan's prior blog overnight, that late night then impending Sharks signing of Evander Kane at $7M annually for 7 years, could take them out of the running for Tavares, should he opt for free agency, with the Sharks having rumored to have been one of, if not the first favorite perceived landing spot for him.
Kane's signing leaves them currently with only about $7.5M in cap space, based on the current NHL $75M cap, prior to it being expected to rise anywhere up to a maximum of an $80M ceiling very shortly. So some cap space would have to be created in order for them to pursue Tavares. Including Kane, they have 12 signed forwards, 6 d'men, and 2 goalies, in addition to having just 1 RFA in their minor league affiliate. So they are still short in having to fill in a few signed spares on their Pro roster.
The Kane signing may now lead to other less thought of teams being in the bidding for Tavares if he reaches free agency. That could include for one team Montreal, (especially if they trade Pacioretty), in making Tavares an even bigger offer than expected from any of the presumed favorites, to the tune of $15M per season, in comparison to Kane's $7M. The bar has been set already prior to the opening of free agency, as it was also a season ago for a Carlson in Washington, and a Karlsson in Ottawa after the Rangers signing of Shatty. |

To get good/impact players. 22 Dom Moore's, while having a great work ethic, wins you less than 30 games. |
