CPA. I've had three internships with government, public practice, and NPO, but its just annoying going through this whole process (three interviews with one firm is outrageous). Your living the life, I have a feeling you are investing in the construction industry.
- pker2theend

Yeah, I hear ya. I had an internship with the government as well a couple of years ago, was hoping it would lead to a full-time position that I’d be interested in but I got nothing. They offered me another internship in a different office like a month later but I decided to pass.

Yeah . I don't have a problem with small deals to fill bottom pairings or stop gaps , but we have seen too many times , trying to hit a home run in free agency seldom works out.

I want hockey trades for RFAs and cap strapped teams

Hey man he's the Dutch Gretzky

It is funny that you can trace the Gaudette selection back to grabbing him off waivers considering what it looks like Gaudette might become for us

Yeah, it’s exactly why I shake my head at people who say “omg who cares about late round draft picks”. You want as many unscratched lottery tickets as possible if you’re a bottom feeder. Even if the odds to win are super low.

And you don’t toss them away for other team’s scraps

The biggest reason they moved was that the Coliseum was wanting a crap ton more money out of them after the contract expired. Surrey would not have this issue with the Comets regarding how much they pay to play there. well priced ticket sales and if JB keeps young developing future Canucks there, they would do well.
- Retinalz

Apparently the Giants had to bear the cost of everything in that rink, including clean up and all repairs, even if they came from other events. Combine that with some subpar seasons and they needed to get out

As for the Comets, I agree with Nucker in that it would be fun for a short while only. The minute the Canucks return to playoff/cup contenders the AHL team would be forgotten IMO; it would be very difficult to keep that team interesting/exciting during contending years

I really wish JB would cut his losses and trade Gudbranson for whatever he could get. Same goes for MDZ, he logged big minutes but he wasn't very good. Sign a Dman to replace, and get ready to trade another at the TDL

MDZ sucks, but since he was new and physical, I think people give him a pass. I do like that he has a backbone and seems like a good vet off of the ice, but he needs to be flipped for a draft pick at the TDL this year.

This was a guy that the Flyers of all teams didn’t want back on their pedestrian defense.

This years opening roster vs end of the year roster should be interesting. Ideally I'd like Nilsson (preferably gone opening roster) and MDZ gone at or before TDL would make me happy.

It’s be cool for a year or 2 and then no one would bother.

Plus potentially more injured prospects since there aren’t many AHL teams nearby so there’s more travel/fatigue. Utica is surrounded by AHL teams, I think they even bus to quite a few games.

I like Utica’s fanbase, they actually really care about that team.

I personally hate going downtown so I would probably be one of the 4000 followers. 20 bucks a night fits right into my cheap ass ways

I have been following them for years 4000 miles away. I don't know how having them in my backyard will hurt my interest.

Yeah, nothing against the guy, he'd be fine on the 3rd pairing if we had a competitive team, but there's too much being asked of him right now. Might as well trade him while he has any kind of value.

I hate that we're stuck with Gudbranson. I feel that next year he'll take ice time away from Stecher, who has a legitimate shot at being a middle pairing guy.

Every time I think about setting a roster to post I puke when I see Erikssons name . There ain't enough lipstick in the city to dress that pig up.

Instant failed roster.

I also hope they find better than Baertschi and Granlund .

Posting a roster that you think that looks reasonable with this list of player is like being proud of a 2 inch boner.

I get the logistics of cost and who may/may not pay for them as I run an Arena for a living.

When I spoke to the owner/operators at the Langley Event Centre plus the ownership for the Giants (I was there inquiring about work a few years back) they said that attendance was a factor for the move...maybe not the main one but a huge factor. Plus they wanted a more intimate crowd environment which the Langley Centre gives them. Bottom line is that if the Giants drew better crowds (yes there were subpar Hockey years) they would able to cover the expenses of being in a larger facility and then some. But sometimes reality just takes over.

If Utica moved to Surrey it would be cool for a year or two...but when crowds dwindled (and they would) they wouldn't be able to cover even half of their operations costs which are huge in BC.
